Hard Knock Life is obviously from the musical Annie, but it was also sampled by Jay-Z in his song “hard knock life (ghetto anthem)” which came out in 1998. Definitely worth a listen, it’s a great song! It’s what the scene with Mini Me and Dr Evil is based on.

For someone who hasn't seen the Bond movies, I'm impressed Addie had a good grasp on the story flow and enjoyed the risque humor of these movies. This franchise is one of those lightning in a bottle movies. With "modern" Hollywood, it's never gonna be this good anymore.

I think what people who weren't around at the time these movies were coming out (or at the very least, weren't paying attention) don't really understand is that Austin Powers was pretty much the biggest franchise in cinema at the time and Mike Meyers was a certified superstar. That's a big reason that Goldmember has so many high-profile cameos, because literally everyone was trying to get a piece of that action. And then of course Meyers basically tanked his commercial career for the next two decades (aside from voicing Shrek) with the flop that was "The Love Guru", lol.

I've stepped on a rake before. I was running cable on the outside of a house and looking down. I caught myself fully about an inch above my eye, hard enough to draw blood and leave a bruise for days. So I moved the rake to the side, and then 10 minutes later I side stepped onto it catching myself near my ear, no damage apart from my pride that time at least.

I'm about to date myself here, but I was 15, about to turn 16 when this movie came out and I actually saw it in theaters. It was my first date. The girl I was seeing at the time and I were supposed to go see Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones but by the time we were able to go the movie wasn't playing in any theaters in my area, and this was the only movie that was out that we both wanted to see, so that's what we did. I got it on DVD later on as well. It's still one of my favourite movies from the 2000s.
