And what a truly nice man Robben Ford REALLY is!!! Way back in 1988, just after Robben's "Talk to your daughter" album came out, Robben toured around and he came to Amagansett, Long Island, N.Y. to play at the "Stephen Talkhouse", a really cool historic old music lounge were lots of famous acts come to perform. I had been a huge fan of Robben's for years, and at the break during his show I went over to his table to meet him. And he was so very cordial and willing to truly talk with you! Just before I finished asking him important questions about music and guitar techniques I asked him if he would be willing to do a guitar clinic on Long Island, and he immediately said ""sure absolutely,,"" and he looked around on the table and finding a paper napkin, he pulled out a pen and wrote the name and phone number of his manager, and he said ""just call him and tell him I gave you his number, and he'll set it up"". That's the kind of guy Robben Ford is! If I remember correctly,, his managers last name was "FERGUSON", I'm not certain of his first name though?!?! Maybe it was Gary, ?!?!?! Anyway,,,,, what a great memory that was~!~

Sonny Cannon That’s awesome! That’s the difference between people who play just to get paid or get laid and the guys who genuinely love the music and the fans. The guys who try to interact and relate with their fans are just the best. Dimebag Darrel from Pantera and Eric Johnson (both Texans as it happens)were/are great examples of down to Earth legends. Robin Ford is as nice as they come!

Hi @@FloridaManMatty Thanks very much for your nice comment! Yes, I guess it's all about who you are as a person, as to whether or not you'll become a snob, or not!!! The egotistical guys who happen to become famous, would have been jerks regardless!!! LOL!!!

in my opinion robben ford is just about the most tasteful guitarist on the planet. He has nailed that whole "what not to play/when not to play" thing perfectly. I've played all my life and my solos have always tended to be pretty fast. robben has shown me it doesn't always need to be so. Watch and learn...

Had the immense privilege to meet and play with Robben in the early 90's in Melbourne Australia. Firstly ..the man is a HUGELY developed musician..to sit at close range and lock into his groove and melodic sense while trying to hold up my end forged me as a player forever... Secondly ..a more humble and non bullshit guy would be hard to find.. so generous and sweeeet! Thank You Mr.Ford. PS...the hints he gave me regards comping I still work on nearly 30 yrs later and I'm still scratching the surface...BIG MUSIC

I've followed Robben since the 1970's and was thrilled to watch his success rise over the decades. I can't believe how old 'Talk to your daughter' is now & the albums as a trio that followed were all superb. His tour with Larry Carlton is available on YT and features Robben, Larry, Travis Carlton & Toss Panos on drums. It is possibly some of the best live work from Robben & Larry that I have heard over the years. Thanks to both artists for such a massive contribution to the music world.

Saw Robben in Salt Lake City a couple of years ago. We were at cross walk, stopped in a car in front of the venue. A guy with a pony tail and a guitar case crossed the walk right in front of us. I looked at my friend and said, "that looks like Robben Ford", in a sarcastic voice he says, "I believe that is Robben" and indeed it was! It was funny to just see him crossing he street in front of our car. Needless to say, it was a great show! But funny to see him in that situation before the show.
