I think the shoegaze section should’ve been included after the really early numbered albums, because 1 has a lot of shoegaze influence and is a part of the sub genre “shitgaze” (basically very lofi shoegaze).

I got into CSH from browsing Lo-Fi music, specifically a band called The Albert Square and 10 in the swear jar(Pre-Xiu Xiu project) and yeah i was browsing for new bands to listen to and just decided id ride along. coming from a background of Phat n' Phunky Phonics, Asian Man Records, Really Records/Quote Unquote Records, and Lauren records I am pleasantly surprised

I learned about csh cause I had no music taste when I first started highschool then I found an artist called flying squid (makes absolute bangers btw) and because he's not very... well known it was easy to find and interact with other people that also listen to him so through him I met the people that pretty much shaped my music taste and one of them insisted I listen to car seat headrest and I was doing an internship at a tech company at the time so I had nothing better to do so I listened to their entire discography in the background and I've been a fan ever since

i think the first two csh albums i heard were how to leave town and teens of denial. i found hey space cadet by accident searching for another song and i liked the album art and recognized the band name. not sure if this was before or after joe gets kicked out of school was recommended on my discover weekly. that was all the csh i listened to for a long time. oddly enough i was more into pink floyd and the velvet underground at the time so i liked the long song format and lofi sound
