Srry after having to drive both cars evo n sti (bc my friends left cars in my parking lots over summer, yello evo2003 n bug eye sti mean hwakeye, so) idrove the cars back to back.. imo it feels like sti feels agile suv, when evo feel like sportcar turn rally car, evos cornering feel more accurate in, but sti handles stable in hectic situation.. i guess subis win on liability wise but evo wins on pure driving exp.

@@lokinocmrperfaq4two175 i dont think the usdm bugeye sti's had the quick steering rack yet, if not they would have a 15:1 steering ratio compared to the 13.8:1 of the evo. means you have to steer more for taking the same turns, that could have thrown you of a bit driving them back to back but evo could also just be better in general. i just know that it was only available in the gc8 type R and RA (maybe other special/limited models too), but they put it in the normal jdm sti's in 2003(blobeye sti) and eu/uk got it since 2005(widetrack blobeye sti) i believe. but as i said i dont know how it is in the us cars also i never drove an evo before so i personally have no comparison in driving exp

I’m 22 and I’ve owned 2 Subarus, a 04 Impreza which was a rust bucket and I ended up blowing and now my 05 wrx. I’ve learned a lot about maintaining and working on cars because of them, I did things that I never thought I could like pulling the motor or taking out the transmission ect. There amazing cars but they are a learning experience for sure

I own a 2005 WRX (Blobeye) 267k miles. Original motor. Modded fully catless and tuned to 285whp since 80k miles. Most fun car I've ever owned. With proper care you can drive spirited and it'll keep going.

Just turned 16 and once school is done this year it’ll be time to get my 06 wrx swap running, bought the car a few years back and rebuilt the ej253(bad head gasket) in it to pull it out without even driving it. Bought a rod knocked ej205, tore it down found out the crankshaft was bent so no grinding, put in a 207 crank and some forged rods, found some aggressive cosworth cams at a auction which fit well the 207 springs and valves I’d found. Realized I didn’t have the wiring stuff so found a 03 wrx “parts car” (was barely anything left of it) stripped it then to the scrap yard, put the fresh engine in the car alone with some sti pink injectors, eBay td05 16g, Cold air, still need to put the full exhaust i pieced together in and the massive top mount intercooler. Hopefully it’ll be a fun first car :))

I've been looking at cobbs nexgen stage 2+ and bcp500r, few other goodies and I'll be set till I build a shortblock. I love my car but would trade it for a clean bug eye any day of the week!

The mental side of the job is a big one, after closing All of your doors at loadout and sitting down in your seat fastening your seatbelt your just hoping your day will be bearable at the least... 4 1/2 months in and i completely agreed with everything said. Everybody at my DSP agreed that with all of the labor and hardship to deal with, we should be getting paid at the minimum $24-25 an hour. Many of us only work 4 days due to the fact that the job itself is already very labor-intensive Forcing you to give your body a break. Im sure many can relate to this, all in all if the pay was better 70% of The people who have quitted would have "never" quit in the first place.

I've always wanted an sti hatchback (or even a wrx hatch) but when it was time to finally buy my first NEW car, the best I could do is my 2014 impreza premium hatch which i've loved... but it does NOT have any get up and go, and the reasonable "turbo kit" for a non-turbo impreza is basically a trade-in for a wrx (it's just not worth trying to install forced induction where it wasn't already)... what I REALLY want though, is for the levorg to come to the US... specifically the Levorg 2.0 STI Sport AWD which is REALLY similar to my impreza hatch, but with significantly upgraded suspension, transmission, forced induction, functional hood scoop, and can make sense both on the street, at a rally, and doing grand touring.

I owned a '98 JDM STi. These cars of the last 10 or so years are nothing like the rally legends of years gone - other than having about the same power output, a flat engine, bottom end shenanigans and a nightmare to do spark plugs on. However, there was no infotainment, crazy amount of electronics or the bloat that comes with all of that.

Tbh - I kinda don’t hope Subaru gets back into WRC. I know so many folks want Subaru to lean back into its roots and start making true (or more true, anyway) sports cars again, but imho the “practical daily x sporty rallycross weekend car” market that they’re doing their best to corner is really their true forte. As someone who drives and works on a WRX - as tempted as I am to go full sports/race car with it, I just can’t let go of the excellent practicality that I would have to sacrifice to do so.

I turned it into an STI mechanically, and owned it until 2019 when i sold it to a kid who I believe still owns it and is still ripping around town in it. I've seen him out n about a couple times in it. It has a matte black hood from a baja turbo that fits seamlessly.
