You got a bunch of years, names and info wrong. Just to point out a few… You gots some years wrong completely…..example, the first Gen Legacy. Some years you used the JDM years….…example, the GC/GM Impreza years. There was no “Legacy STi”. 😂 it was the legacy RS in Japan and everywhere else and the Sport Sedan in the US. Then the video you use is all over the place. You talk about the forming of STi and rallying then show a clip of a wall with Vermont sports car on it …..instead of Prodrive. The. Later on you talk shit about how what Subaru/Travis is doing (with Vermont sports car) is not really rallying. Maybe do a little more research next time….instead of spreading wrong information.

I do have to see that it’s way more profitable to go electric however. I can only hope that the legacy of sti is genuinely carried on in the future instead of the bs Mitsubishi gave us when they said the legacy of the evo would live on in their future cars. Subaru's CEO stated the STI will be making a return in the next generation. So giver or take 8 years. Either as a combustible engine, Hybrid or Hydrogen based engine. In my opinion, venturing into a good investment, is not just a strategy for generating passive income but a profitable saving method for future expenses. Those who fail to make the right decisions early in life end up regretting. Nevertheless, investing can be difficult and risky doing it solely. For this reason , I advise on seeking help from professionals(financial advisor). It’s not just watching videos and reading investment book but the challenge is using it well.

I think once all the evil old people that's currently calling all the shots, are gone we'll have more options for fuel like bio fuels, synthetic fuels, and I think Hydrogen power will also become more popular and there will be a resurgence with the internal combustion engine, and that's when we'll see more fun vehicles from Subaru. Electric is just one lane but I think the future has room for many different lanes.

Wrong. The car companies, like every other company, give the people what they want. Nothing less, nothing more. You just have to face the fact that what you want out of a car is completely different from what 99% of people want out of a car. It sucks, I know. I feel the same way. a lot of these comments have good points but i think the base way and the real trunk of the tree to keeping car culture alive is to just dont hate. a lot of the car community is toxic and like to hate on other peoples cars which obv not every car is for everybody, but if someone does something that you dont like, just know that they like it and that to them, it attaches them closer to their car. that to me is what car culture is, that feeling of a personal connection with cars, all this hating on other people doesnt do any good for you or the person youre hating on

car culture isn''t dead, im 38 yrs old and I bought a 21 Sti to mod and get more driveability out of it and enjoy the car. Ive also passed my passion for cars on to my son. So yeah I may not be doing it to show it off, but I add adtermarket parts to it and take care of it like its my baby and enjoy it every time I drive it. It is unfortunate about STI being dead as far as them not making them anymore, we all thought that they were going to manufacture a 400 hp sti, and then they dropped the bomb about not doing that and making some electric variant. I'm just glad that I got into one before that happened.

I had an 06 STI when I lived in Germany. Such a great car. It was fast in any weather (with the right tires, of course) and could run down exotics on the Autobahn. I saved up my pennies to buy a new STI just in time for Subaru to kill them off. Now the used ones are way overpriced. I saw one for sale last week for $50k. Crazy.

Has this guy been living under a rock? The 4th Gen is still definitely being modified into show cars and yes Subaru does really race in Nitro Rallycross and the American Rally Championship. It won both championships in 2021. Also I don't think the younger generation is yearning for electric cars, especially when you factor in their price to performance vs a used gas powered V8 or turbocharged 4 cylinder.

Right, the naming drives me mad. Naming goes as follows 92/00 - GC/GF or Classic V1 thru V6 (regardless if it's STI or not, version is simply a easy and convenient way to refer to the model year/facelift) 00/02 - Bugeye 03/05 - Blobeye 05/07 - Hawkeye 08/14 - Hatch (both saloon and hatchbacks are referred to as the "hatch" generation) 14/22 - Has no widely used nickname yet, every single person I've ever met just refers to them as a STi or WRX. I have not heard a single person in the wild refer to one as Raptoreye. It's a cringe nickname too, the sort someone would give himself. Stinkeye and Raptoreye are not widely used nicknames in subaru circles, and the only people I've ever heard use them are the wannabe sidewalk photographer types that don't even have a drivers license and spend way too much time on forums trying to pretend to be cool. Stop. Just Stop.

Nice homage to the STI. Couple fact checks, the STI was first sold in the U.S. in 2004. The '04 is unique even versus the '05 blob eyes in that it has different wheels/bolt pattern. Another interesting fact is the '04 did not come with floor mats or a stereo. When the President of Subaru was asked why at the press launch. His response was "It's a race car, it doesn't need those. They would only add weight." Car reviews have described the '04 as a more raw, visceral "rally car" feel than future generations. In case you haven't guessed I own and LOVE an '04 in Java Black Pearl with Silver BBS wheels. Subaru is VERY MUCH still in the rally game. WRC and ARA are alive and well and Subaru is kickin butt! Check out Subaru's Launch Control videos.

I bought my 2019 WRX with the plan to keep it stock and baby it forever - I used to build and drive a heavily HEAVILY modified 93 Mustang; but with modified cars they won't last and will break more often. I'm satisfied with my stock 2019 WRX being nearly on par with my built up 93 Mustang (before it was super charged) in the hopes that I'll keep it running as long as possible (knowing my next car will be a mandated electric I'm not looking forward to). When the day comes the car starts to need serious work to keep it going, that's when I may consider a rebuild and push it another decade/s from that moment. We need to start to look at these as babies and treat them as such; these last gasoline cars will be very special indeed

I was born in the late 90's and grew up playing games like need for speed and watching the first 2 Fast and Furious movies and I have always loved modified cars. Last year I bought the last STI on the lot at my local dealer before the announcement of there not being a new STI and paid MSRP for it. I am just now getting the funds together to modify it. New exhaust, new wheels, new tires and I want to do more and take it track days. However I think the market has shifted and not many people want to do that anymore. I think the market has shifted to the BRZ and the GR 86 and other small RWD 2 door coupes. No one wants to buy a heavy turbo charged sedan anymore, especially one that gets worse fuel economy than a V8 pickup and has harsher suspension. Car culture isn't dead, it's just in a lull. Give it 15 years when EV's have taken over and people will start modifying those; overlocking the processors in the cars, throwing in higher output motors, better power delivery systems with more power phases, larger capacitors, denser batteries, etc.

What I think is that car culture is a dying breed not every kid out there likes cars, and with these leaders who are environmentally inclined you have to make a decision now, because the next ICE car you get could be your last. Appreciate the question at the end. And to be honest, I don't have much faith that the beloved 90s and 2000s flavor of car culture (yes, they are different, just like that of the pre-60s vs post-50s NASCAR era) is ever going to make a comeback. I believe that at this time, we (well... society, by-and-large) are at an inflection point to determine new priorities - which ironically is brought about by a lack of individuality and a sense of pioneering spirit: the same two qualities that fueled said era of car culture. As automotive tech and buyer semantics change, so do the drivers. Between the political, social, and economic pressures that everyone thinks are ever pressing, old values just don't hold much sway anymore. Working hard to earn/deserve/build that one "this tops all" tuner or muscle car, has given way to, "I can shop and take delivery of a car, 100% online... And pay worth money the government gave me." (Only to lose it after the stimulus checks have stopped). Furthermore, people are buying into the bullshit about why we need to warpspeed electrification... all the while, Marketing design teams are loading new vehicle designs with more in-car creature comforts and "twinkies" that more than doubles... sometimes triples the baseline required amperage rating to sustain the the vehicle in a drivable state! (Once called "idle.) I feel as though what we're experiencing right now is akin to the late-70s/early 80s fuel crisis, which gave way to a decade (80s to 90s) of shitty K-cars (on one end of the spectrum) and bloated, imbalanced, and underpowered sedans (on the other end) that were borne of very little clarity of purpose. But we now know that had to happen, for the import scene to take flight. The semantics of that era, coupled with the gap in "fun", and"inspiration" created a new market for cars that delivered just that. And Japan surely delivered. Anyway, I'm preaching. Point I'm making is, looking around you, it's fast turning into a moot point to try to save the current semantics and try to influence a culture to stay alive. Being woke and SJW and green is more important than WRX and SOHC vs DOHC and being rally "reddy" . So, aging geezers such as myself have chosen to shut the garage down, and go into collection mode, with the goal of preserving what will become relics of a bygone era of fast, fun, highly tuned Dino-powered shitboxes... Until the next evolution of car culture comes along. (if it does at all) Context and history are key here, to discern what the future may unfold. While everyone else is trying their darnedest to make their Priuses and Teslas as fast, while defining how to make them practical while being more electric than gas-powered, I'll be that guy who occasionally let's the sun hit the paint on some old JDM legends, without a need to prove a damn thing.
