It was Karen Carpenter seeing that video that set the wheels of diets and anorexia into motion.
@ashleyvestal9030
@ashleyvestal9030 3 жыл бұрын
@@pastelskies8466 yes - I didn't know that but I assumed. I was diagnosed in 1986 with anorexia at the age of 16. It was just after my mother (a former beauty queen obsessed with being thin) had me watch a cheerleading video of myself where I realized how "fat" I was. She said a lot. This preceded 2 decades of hospitalizations, etc. I fortunately had an amazing endocrinologist (Dr. Jerome S. Fischer) in San Antonio, TX who took me under his wing and I got better for the most part. I believe many people probably commented on this video to Karen at the time.

Back when artists had pure talent. No auto tune, no twerking on stage, no pomp and circumstance.....talent.

What a talented pair of siblings. Karen had the most beautiful voices of any female singer-ever. And Richard was/is a powerhouse talented singer/songwriter/musician/producer. May God Bless Richard and to Karen-R.I.P. Beautiful music that brings to tears to my eyes or a smile to my face when I hear it. I came from that generation and loved their music. But I didn't appreciate them enough back then. Now? I am getting ready to buy all their CDs. These songs remind me of a simpler, happier time and stirs emotions in me that are rich and deep. Love their music and appreciate them so much more these days.
