@@pastelskies8466 yes - I didn't know that but I assumed. I was diagnosed in 1986 with anorexia at the age of 16. It was just after my mother (a former beauty queen obsessed with being thin) had me watch a cheerleading video of myself where I realized how "fat" I was. She said a lot. This preceded 2 decades of hospitalizations, etc. I fortunately had an amazing endocrinologist (Dr. Jerome S. Fischer) in San Antonio, TX who took me under his wing and I got better for the most part. I believe many people probably commented on this video to Karen at the time.

People often say that they wished they went to their concerts. Hundreds of men wished they could have dated or even married her. If given the chance to go back in time, I would have liked to try to help her to recover from this dreadful eating disorder. After she regained her health, I would walk away. 💙

which is really what she preferred but unfortunately couldn't do her heart's wish. Her end was brought on by the physiological stresses of stardom as singer which placed on her system the deadly disease anorexia nervosa and she suffered a deadly heart attack at a very young age of 32. May she RIP and we find peace with her angelic voice and songs.

@@FEZKARA This was from a time when they thought she had finally kicked the disease and had put on weight. Sadly not long after this it came back with a vengeance and she lost all she had gained and far too much more that she couldn't afford to lose and not shortly afterwards it took her.

Saw her in Lake Charles, LA. We were on the third row. My brother-in-law was filming with an 8mm movie camera, no sound. Every time she sang the words “close to you”, she looked square into his camera. Still have the recording. She was amazing

What a talented pair of siblings. Karen had the most beautiful voices of any female singer-ever. And Richard was/is a powerhouse talented singer/songwriter/musician/producer. May God Bless Richard and to Karen-R.I.P. Beautiful music that brings to tears to my eyes or a smile to my face when I hear it. I came from that generation and loved their music. But I didn't appreciate them enough back then. Now? I am getting ready to buy all their CDs. These songs remind me of a simpler, happier time and stirs emotions in me that are rich and deep. Love their music and appreciate them so much more these days.
