How beautiful. Anita should be on the hall of fame. No one will ever compare to Anita.

Never ceases to amaze me the ease with which Anita reaches those notes. She doesn't strain, shout. or yell to get those notes out. It's as easy to her as speaking. God-given Voice

There’s an old old clip of Anita singing a duet with Hank Williams on KZbin. It’s truly amazing! SHE’S AMAZING!!! Johnny Cash always said, she had the voice to be a big star. But, Anita preferred singing with family and didn’t want to shine on her own. She did have a few really great singles…especially “Lovin’ Him Was Easier Than Anything I’ll Ever Do Again.” Also, SHE WAS GORGEOUS!!!

🌷Oh that "young" June Carter really cracks me up when on stage singing and being a comedian at the same time. She pulls her dress up on some of these songs & shows her Mother Maybelle's "home made pantaloons" she made for her & doesn't seem to think a thing about doing that on stage!.🙄.I would never have let my grown girls do a thing like that.But guess is part of her comic act tho she still did it some too as got older&...oh I love 💙her so much & she's a great singer too !😇🎶♥️🍀😇

What I like is that there are no screaming guitars, pedals, buttons, and other stuff to make you sound better than you are, something missing today in many, talent, pure and honest as it should be, nothing there to hide behind, you have it or you don't, they have it.
@scottbreseke7164 жыл бұрын
Right after Anita sings that high part at time stamp 3:24 you can see that June is impacted by that. She kind of bows her head and gulps, and glances at Anita with a look of concern. Helen notices that June does that too. Not sure what to make of that.

Anita Carter had the most beautiful voice in Country Music, but lacked the drive or hunger to be a superstar. Hard to know how far she could have gone...she was prettier than any of the great Country women (Tammy, Loretta, Patsy, Dottie, Dolly), but all the Carter daughters kind of played in the shadow of Mother Maybelle. Both Anita and Helen had great music talent---Helen as a musician and Anita as a vocalist, but June who was the least musical of the three managed to be the biggest star through sheer personality alone. Funny how that works.
@tonylupo17644 жыл бұрын
Since she was 4 years old Anita loved singing with her family. That was more important to her than breaking away and being a superstar. She was a star that shined very brightly her whole life just listen.....
