This is a tier list that I made before the game came out, that’s why there’s only 1 Frank, and I thought Tom was gonna be more utilised which is why I added him to it 😭 Good lost though 👍

Nice tier list lads! I will admit i havent played alot of this. But enough. I hate stan. I do like one or 2 and sorta neutral for rest i just need to really get into it i guess. But a great video and to hear your thoughts on the characters!

To be honest, since it’s pretty much confirmed prologue and 2024 Sam are the same character, it would be unfair to separate them. Anyway, here’s my ranking: Sam (80s): B rank, savior of the day, twice! Jaime: C rank, Chris’s boyfriend, that’s all he is. Linda (80s): A rank, she’s the best. Frank: A rank, better than Dumet imo. Tom: B rank, enjoyable guy for a prologue character. Robert: C rank, Sam’s dad and Chris’s other boyfriend? Madison: A rank, poor fool. Augustine: S rank, always one step ahead. Bonnie: A rank, wish she could have been saved. Sam (2024): B rank, « get to the point old man! » Stan: B rank, opportunist A-hole. Chris: B rank, timey wimey stuff, also not my type. Linda (2024): S rank, she’s even better.

Yeah I really do think Chris is one of the best characters just cause of her story. There's a theory that she's an alternate version of Augustine, If that's actually intended I think that makes her character even more interesting. Also an interesting thing about Frank, if Linda and Robert are the only ones alive in Murder Mill, Frank's ghost actually spares Linda before he's trapped in the camera, He hears the baby cries from the prologue in his head and backs off. I think that's a really important scene for his character in showing that he might be conflicted on killing people.

@@ButterflyEffectPodcast I think the theory went that the 80s timeline's Chris is a version of Augustine who led a completely different life not knowing about the Entity. (which could mean that Augustine's real name is Chris, since we know Augustine is just a name she picked) and the Augustine we see in the 80s is from a completely different universe, and she nudges Chris in a direction and plans it all so that, that version of her will eventually make Murder Mill and bring Frank Stone back with the camera. And then the second her purpose is done, the portal opens to take her away. There's subtle things that could hint its true, like how Chris says Augustine looks familiar in the campfire ending, which could just mean she linked her with the shop owner. BUT she specifically says "It's like looking into a broken mirror" that line feels kinda specific. its not a theory with a ton of evidence, or a ton debunking it. I guess its just an interesting thing to think about

@@Anteater92006 In the end we can also look at it like this: Everyone part of the movie cast took a piece of the film: * Linda took a piece * Robert took a piece * Jaimie took a piece * but most importantly, Chris took a piece If Linda gave her piece, Robert's piece was given by Stan and Madi gave Jaimie's piece...... Then who gave Christine's piece to complete the movie? This can only work if Augustine already had it or if the devs had a major oversight

This was a great tier list. Agree with most of the rankings here. Only thing I'd do in my tier list is elevate 2024, Sam and Madi to A tier, due to the 100% personal bias that those were the two characters to make it to the campfire in my playthrough 😅. I probably related to Madi the most out of the cast. Probably the easiest self-insert out of the cast. I've seen a few people online who disliked Madi for being a adult but feeling / acting like a kid. However... umm... snap! As for 2024 Sam, I agreed with your points about him being a bit evasive, although, at the time of my blind playthrough I thought this was a "6 of Sam and half dozen of Linda" type situation. Linda was also somewhat antagonistic towards Sam, even with me picking as many "trust Sam" style choices. Also I'm not sure how I would go about explaining you're part of a time travelling organisation to save worlds from the entity? It helped I also got the scene with him distracting Frank Stone to save Madi. That was a cool sequence. Then again, if I had gotten Madi killed because of him I think I'd have put him in F tier where the F would be me screaming obscenities. I do agree with you about his lack of depth though. If they had fleshed out 2024 Sam a bit more then I'd have put him in S tier. I'd also put Stan in A tier due to the performance. He doesn't quite reach the heights of Charlie Lonnit, but I very much agree with the sentiment that the playthrough wouldn't feel the same with him gone. I also got the scene with him playing "fetch" with Frank stone like "Frankie... Here's a good boy *gives pets*.... *Frank Stone wags tail*". His death here didn't feel as cheap as it would have if he were axed immediately, I was like "is the pendant going to work? oooooh.... oooooh... ahh nope damn it!"

This is a good tiar list, it shows that everyone is not perfect or flawed and it is the case with a lot characters in stories. Linda is an amazing I like her pretty much for the sames reasons you guys do. My favourite character is Madi as she is someone I very highly relate to. Her talking to her mum with her photo out is when I got really attached as I do the same thing but instead of a photo I have a necklace I hold. Her behaviour is accurate for someone who is griefing and I Iike how you shape whether she is passive or aggressive or both. Everytime she felt some sort of emotional I felt it too which is why it stung so hard when she died in the most horrid way in my first playthrough 😭 I'd say the only thing I don't relate to is the nightmares she has but I'd say that is more related to Dead by Daylight lore. Augustine and her relationship with the black vale is very well crafted. The black vale itself is interesting it's mentioned in Dead by Daylight lore so it is really cool to see one of it members in action. It is a shame we don't get to see what she was like before she joined the black vale. Also there are two Augstines, the young one in 2024 and the old one in 1980 but to be honest you cover both in the one Augustine. Chris is an interesting character. There are theories that she is a young Augustine and while it does kind of make sense there isn't really any evidence to support it. Chris reminded me of my brother's gf at one point. When Chris was in the garage (1st time) and she says "Dude let me be upset" I was literally like OMG it's her! My brother's gf isn't as loud as Chris but I did think that part was funny. Bonnie is another character I can relate to but not as much as Madi. It's more about the fact that she is helping care for her family. While her situation isn't the same as what I had it still shares similarities. I love her punk rock personality it makes her more unique compared to all the others. I think all the characters are well crafted and it clear that Behaviour studios helped to fit them into the Dead by Daylight universe. Another great video se you guys around 🙂

Hello :) Okay, now I have to ask: Why do you always use an “incorrect” tier list as a thumbnail? XD Showing your actual tier list might be more helpful, since watchers would want to click on it to find out why a certain character landed on a certain spot. Plus, someone thinking this is your actual tier list could get discouraged from watching if they see their favorite character in a low spot. Basically, I think showing your correct tier list might be more beneficial for the channel then showing a deliberately wrong one ^^ I think the most difficult question for this character tier list is: Should you count a character that appears in more than one timeline as a separate one or as the same one? For example, I think it makes sense to separate the two Lindas, but I would count the two Sams as one. 2024!Linda is definitely S tier for me, while I’m unsure on Sam. I really, really like all versions of him, but also think he needed more screen- and playtime. I was happily surprised to see Madi so high, since I’d be the first to admit that she’s pretty bland … but I love her and her bond with Linda nevertheless, so I’d also put her pretty high :) Sadly, Bonnie wouldn’t be that high for me because of how irrelevant she eventually became … I like her, but not much more :-/ Chris and Stan are absolutely amazing, imo! Funnily enough, I didn’t like either of them on my first playthrough, but they grew so much on me since then that I’d at least put them in A tier :) They are so entertaining, have character depth and make the story more interesting, which are huge plus points for me. Just counting the playable characters, I think I’d rate them the same as yours: Linda > Chris > Madison > Sam > Jaime. For now, at least - my list will probably change in the future ;) But even if it does, I want to compliment Supermassive for listening to their fans and working on their female characters. We started out with a lot of abrasive ones, but gained a lot more range since then :) Thanks for sharing your tier list, I’m excited for your next TCOFS videos!

You'll have to ask Liam about the tn thing! Although equally you could spin it and say if you reveal the true tier list in the tn then people might not click. Also, if there is a "wild" ranking then people might be curious as to the reasoning for that. And yeah I definitely thing female characters have got better in recent years! In fact we've already done a video on this with regards to Frank Stone. Even the Quarry had better girls than guys imo. Great thoughts on the characters btw 👌 ~ Jack

Jaime is the weakest character for me; never wanting to assert what he wants (rather than being dazzled by Chris or other people), quick to get jealous (for no reason at all), naive and oblivious about the bubble he lives in as Bonnie's younger brother and love interest of Chris AND Linda. Younger Linda is B grade to A grade territory, but like wine, she gets better with age. Older Linda is definite S tier. But let's be FRANK about this situation, Bonnie Rivera should be in a tier all her own, she is that good.
