She seems to be proud of having her head being large, so I got a question: in the second part she was upset that her head got large, and it seemed like it has influenced her becoming the regent of wonderland. If that’s an insecurity, then she shouldn’t be so sassy about it. If she’s proud of having it, then it doesn’t make sense for her to have people with other large parts around. Though I count myself a fan of their work elsewhere, I found the extent to which Tim Burton and Linda Woolverton took license in changing such a beloved, iconic work downright offensive (though hardly unique; from the Penguin of _Batman Returns_ to _Wednesday's_ Gomez and Morticia Addams, Burton's controversially reinvented iconic characters for years). It's especially disappointing as the visuals of the piece are truly the closest we've come to capturing John Tenniel's whimsical illustrations perfectly. The Red Queen, with her disproportionate head, could have stepped right off one of the pages (Helena Bonham Carter steals the film). Unlike it's baffling sequel, this film by no means irredeemable. Burton's dark spin on Lewis Carroll's characters is reason enough to see it. But if, like me, you're someone that holds the original in high regards, this Wonderland - oops. _Underland_ - just feels like a colossal missed opportunity.
