Anne Boleyn would rise to become Queen of England and the second wife of King Henry VIII. Initially, Anne refused the Kings advances but eventually gave in; their marriage now sealed, Henry had what he wanted. Westminster Abbey set the scene, and it was now time for the coronation of Anne Boleyn. In this short history documentary, we look at the fashion fit for a Queen. Plus, the facts that led up to this most eventful day and beyond. The story of the Queen and crown explained which created a new monarch Anne Boleyn was now Queen of England.

Thanks Jon for yet another great video, this time focusing on a time of triumph for the one and only Anne Boleyn. Anne spent time at the Tower only twice in her rollercoaster lifetime, the first a time of triumph, her Coronation and the second a time of disgrace, wrongdoing and sadness, her imprisonment, trial and execution. I imagine Anne felt a mixture of excitement, pride and nerves for her Coronation. It was her moment but even someone as confident as her must have felt a tad overwhelmed by the enormity and pomp of it all. It sounded quite long and arduous too especially for a pregnant woman, never mind all that rich food and drink. I have researched the events of her sumptuous Coronation before but never tire of hearing about them, so detailed. The events of her Coronation would be a dream to see for any lover of Anne or Tudor history. Hard to really imagine what those days were like, they sound so unreal but your manipulation of images did help.

Her coronation was a catastrophe . No one cheered her. No man lifted their caps as her carriage drove by. In fact , the people cried out " Good Queen Catherine ! " Harbinger of Anne Boleyn's end.

That should have alarmed Anne. She was a head of her time and assertive but was also over confident of her ability to keep Henry interested forever. She struggled with her role as a wife and underestimated Catherine’s popularity among English.

Henry should have given her benefit of the doubt on the adultery and given her a longer time to give him a son. In those days it sounds like infant mortality was high. She was still young, she probably could have done it. If only Henry would have had a little patience.
