Those two women were victims of Henry VIII, as were their children. It is especially tragic that Henry thwarted Anne's intended love and marriage to Henry Percy, whom she originally wanted to marry. Henry quite clearly did not remember or ignored that Bible verse between a husband and wife in Matthew 19:6 - "So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Yes but "God" has nothing to do with it (I'll assume to believe that stuff). Henry chose Catherine. When she could not produce him a male heir he had her put away. And Anne got a sad deal as well, almost certainly, not being guilty of the crimes charged against her. Also, there is a wee incorrect bit there. Clue - Henry Percy. You, me, God or anyone/anything else save Henry VIII and his ministers of state had anything relevant to do with it.

Overall, I feel reasonably positive about both women, who played to the rules they thought were appropriate. Both were treated in a ghastly fashion by Henry VIII and his ministers, and neither deserved the s#### they got from Henry. I do genuinely believe Catherine's first marraige to a sickly boy was not consumated, and equally so I can not imagine Anne being so silly as to fool around with anyone else given how well she knew her husband's temper. Both of these women were disgarded by their husband because his own goals and objectives changed. He could not execute a princess of Spain so he divorced her. The other one was expendable and went to the block because she could not conceive a male heir. And - such an irony - their daughter was the greatest queen regnant England ever had. A throughly interesting and detailed video thank you. Catherine and Anne did in fact have much in common, as stated. Both were strong to endure what their time, culture and values prescribed.

I think that in all this Kathryn was a faithful a accomplished queen some 20 years.. I think Anne overestimate Henry's affection for her. This proves how tragically manipulative ( for lack of of a better word) Henry was.
