It is strange. I have neighbors who own 2018 Jetta and 2021 Tiguan and both of them noticed that vibration. On the Jetta, driver reported ABS warning light as well, although dealer tried to diagnose and reported no DTCs were set.

By inner cv joint is it at the input end of the DSG? Like not the CV close to the tyre, cheers. Think I'm having this issue with my MK5. No vibration when coasting then I feel a woble and vibration when I touch the gas

The same problem I am facing with 2014 Honda Accord, I have changed everything like you said CV axle outer inner both side also ball joint and new tyres on balanced. But still I am facing the same problem only in highway, like when I hit the gas it vibrates but when I get off the foot from gas paddle it smooths. Help me please.

I have a golf R MK7.5 with only 33k miles, have very minimal vibration but wobble bad at high speeds. went out at 4am onto the motorway (UK) and got up to 120mph just to test it and the wobble was dangerous, only just started happening 3 weeks ago. had all wheels balanced and wheel alignment done but its still there. can see no leaking from any cv boots. driving me crazy at this point. either a buckled alloy which is not visible by eye or inner cv joint possibly wheel bearing? doubt that though as its only 33k miles so bearings should be fine. don't know what to do as its my daily and I don't have real time to get it to a garage because of work. tyres are all new Michelin ps5's and have no bulges or flat spots/ separation. its infuriating to say the least.

My 2010 gti vibrates when i take off in first gear and once i get up and going it goes away. I can feel it a little bit too when im gove it a little gas on highway and like u said when i let off the gas it will smooth out. Sometimes i can be driving slow thru a parking lot or something and the car feels like my car is wobbling goong up and down on the front passenger side like im driving over a bump or something. Also when i put the car in park it rocks back m forth like it has too much play in it. Does it sound like the front passenger cv axle to you? Thats what ive narrowed it down to from watching these videos

I have a fairly similar issue with my car, a 2011 Golf Mk6 1.4 TSI (118kW, but I don't think that matters much). Whenever I am stepping on it, or I'm climbing a hill, there's a thumping sound. You can feel it in the floor, shifter, even a bit in the steering wheel. It's also vibrating like crazy when doing above 120kmph, but stops over 140, so maybe there's some weird resonance happening. Already swapped out both CV joints (inner and wheel) on the right side, swapped control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rods and sway bars. It's driving me nuts! The thing is that the thumping comes from the right side of the car, so I am (maybe incorrectly) excluding the possibility of a bad left side CV joint. The thumping frequency increases with the speed. It feels almost like when doing a burnout and the tires kinda skip on the spot, but much less violent than that.

are all your tires same size? sounds stupid but most of these are all wheel drive and it would definitely "skip" from uneven tire wear even if they were same measurements. the other thing would be to check your main axle U Joints... those totes fail sometimes and if you hear a CLUNK! when you go from reverse to forward.... just look at them they are very easy to see if damaged or not

@jedmarquardt4023 yeah, all my tyres are the same size. The sound is there with both my winter and my summer tyres. Also rotated the wheels arouns so I can eliminate an issue with the rims. It's a FWD so I don't think I have a U joint. I have already swapped the whole CV axle twice. Someone suggested that the small axle that's coming out of the gearbox and connects to the CV shaft might be a bit bent, also I am thinking that maybe the front diff is somehow busted. It drives fine otherwise so I'll just see if it gets worse. It's gonna get a new clutch pack at some point and I'll check the gearbox thoroughly when I do that.

@@dyazRO so after putting the car on the lift i noticed a slight wiggle in the tire from left to right, the tie rod end boot is broken and the cv axle boots are shot

Will the check-engine light usually come on for this issue? My light was flashing when the car vibrated.

Yes typically if it picks up so many misfires within x amount of time the light will come on and blink while the misfire is active and store a fault pointing you at the correct cylinder as well

Have you managed to solve your issue with steering shaking yet. I've spent over £1500 trying to solve this issue and I'm still having the same problem. I've changed drive shafts, shockers, brake discs & pads, tie rods and even got new alloys with brand news tyres on and still same problem.

Ive watched a couple of your CV diag vids and Im pretty sure this is what is happening on my mk7 gsw. Is there a good way to identify D/P side? Is it worth trying to rebuild if I have the time? My 92 S4 has original GKN that I rebuild after finding torn boots, would like to do the same for the mk7 if regrease would help. Thanks!

I’m not 100% sure you can get a inner cv joint separate for that model i know you can replace outer with a GKN joint, I would check you boots and try to feel for excessive movement in joints, the old urs4s were such great cars

hi i have 2006 vw passat 2.0 tdi automatic, the entire car shakes while accelerating roughly between 50-70kph, shaking stops instantly when you stop accelerating could this be the inner cv? any thoughts on this are appreciated, worth noting both front shocks and bushings have been replaced to no avail

Strange that it’s only experienced at that speed range, usually you can feel it any time accelerating with bad joints. Do you have any faults stored?

I am having a similar issue. But my 2012 Jetta SE 2.5 only shakes between 30-40 mph. Not before 30 or after 40 and only while accelerating. No shake when off the gas. I’ve changed the coils and plugs I’ve check all wheels and balancing. Checked for bad bearings and have changed both cv axles. Still having the same issue. No warning lights on dash. I’m stumped.

Could be the input shaft to the dsg or wheel bearing, might also want to check suspension at the tierod or control arm bushings to. If you cheaped out on the driveshafts you might want to get the inner cv parts checked as well

I have a T5.1 Caravelle 7 speed dsg 180 4 motion. I had horrific vibration from 40-50 mph, while the drive shafts were changed (which weren’t that badly worn) the garage found the front and rear engine mounts were worn and amplifying the problem! That solved the speed specific issue! A few weeks later my dsg box decided to spit out the near side driveshaft (my box has female splines with male splines on the drive shaft) thus creating another mystery vibration, luckily enough the shaft was just refitted with a new c clip and it’s been fine since. I suspect my badly worn top mounts may have caused this failure and once my wallet has recovered that’s what’s being done next

Awesome video man. Just so everyone knows. I have a vw mk7 golf TDi. And I have been gradually lowering the car. As the car has been lower I've experiences more pro less with my exles until this weekend I lowered it a little more and know it vibrates pretty bad. Checked the axle and sure enough it was the axle. I swapped it thinking this would fix the problem and it didn't. Simply because it is still at same low ride height so this tore the k ew axle in same day. Now I have to raise the car and get axles all over. Learn from my mistakes peeps.

Help me :). I have the same issue with golf 7 1.6 tdi 110 cp breack 2015 manual gearbox 5 speed. When accelerate in the 3rd and 4th the whole car shakes, when i release the gas pedal everything is soo smooth. What is the problem? I change all 3 engine/gearbox mounts.

2007 MK5 GTI DSG, After changing summer tyres from winter ones, the same problem is taking place. Stomping the gas pedal, the car starts to vibrate. Initially, vibration only happened while turning right and accelerating. But it is getting worse today.😮

@@EuropeanAutoRepair u mean on dash , there’s no lights on , right now I lifted rear end driver side and checking to see what I can find , pretty much to me is rear end doing it , tires are one year old , I bought the car before three days for my collge daughter and the previous owner told me that it never did to him anything , to mention when it did roads were wet but not slippery , half way to the city I was driving and after 1 hour I returned home and drove different car

Ive got a 2014 2.0tdi golf 7 based sportsvan. Same exact symptoms, its only done 52,000miles. Has it failed already? I DIY if i can to save money. How much play should there be for it to be considered broken? I guess replacing both is ideal? Thanks for the vid. It started when i had to new tires fitted. I trust the tire shop as i see balncing weights attached on the alloy wheels. Like you said on your vid it is more noticable under accelaration, slow and fast. Hopefully that would be the case on mine aswell.

If the vibration started when tires were installed it might be a good idea to have balance check just in case it’s off, if they check out good look into cv joint play

My TDI does the same thing as this video. Varies with temperature and humidity. It does seem worse with my summer tires. There was a service bulletin on the toureg, That says the hub and the wheel must be aligned a certain way torque down a certain spec and the tires must be road force balanced.

hello I have a 2022 model golf 8 R car. I drove my car very hard for 1 year. (track, drift, drag)Naturally there was a problem with my car. When I take off at full power, there is a vibration that starts at 70-80km/h and ends at 100-120km/h.Vibration comes directly from the rear or from the middle of the car . tires new Balanced, no dents on the rims no vibration at constant speed, it just vibrates at full power. do you have any idea about this?

I’m not sure on that but I would look at that driveshaft and support bearing real good

Yo rullmad are you still having the same issues? I got a similar issue with my skoda vrs, hit a pit hole real hard and my cars never been the same since. Had new tyre, balanced, had wheel allingment done. Had new shockers and now just had the driveshafts replaced. My car still has a wierd vibration once i get to 70mph. Any help would be great

On this particular car it had a inner cv joint issue on a front axle, I would make sure you aren’t having a misfire under load by checking misfire counter and if not check axles for play

@@yanchauveau4605 i put it on a lift and s seen the cv axles are all needing replacement, all boots are broken and dry. also... this shaking caused one of the tie rod ends to wear out.... this is notable by trying to turn the tire left and right with your hands and seeing/hearing a gap
