I've been playing Rust since beta and never really done the underfloor storage before. It's a great design. Thanks for sharing it with us. Most of my builds have always been 2x1 with a crazy maze of doors. This has given me so much more storage space. I decided not to have the final little box as i found it a bit obstructive. Instead i moved the workbench across to the right and managed to squeeze a box to the left. Also, before i built anything i put some rugs around to get that lovely comfort. i'll be using this from now on i think

This doesn't affect the minimum raid cost. It will still be 15 for both rooms by splashing the back honeycomb and core, or by going through the vending machine and then doors, or the straight doorpath.

@@Templetaps That's true, the minimum is still the same, but we can't always assume the raiders will pick the optimal path either, and top down is usually a pretty safe path to go, so reinforcing it for such a low cost is probably worth it.

@bear5323 жыл бұрын
@@g2xhuseen292 I’ve gone through a ton of variations for different base designs. Some tiny, some multi tc compounds (tough for a solo). I’ve used countless and made countless different bases. From my experience, my current belief is a base should embrace raids. I have found that it frankly doesn’t matter how strong your base is, if a zerg wants to raid you, you WILL log on to an offlined base. My current main base has a secret loot room, which so far has only been cracked once in the last 3 raids. The other thing is that my loot in my bunker is in two different rooms behind a window. Basically if they raid from the outside and hit one of the loot rooms, the loot room itself acts as a second layer of honeycomb. Next my tc is behind a vending machine. Basically raiders have to decide if it’s even worth using 9 rockets for tc. All have decided it’s not. For extra security, you can add an extra external tc which I also use as a horse barn. The bunker actually ends up costing a similar amount as the base in the video. However, it has the added bonus of being expandable with a heli garage and shooting floor. So basically, I just build the minimum (the bunker portion) and just play off of that. I don’t bother expanding unless I snowball and find a ton of mats. Even when I get raided (had a wipe where I got offlined every single day using this base (no secret loot room though) it really doesn’t matter. I lose some loot, but at the end I still have a base and my best loot is hidden. Also, recycle almost everything on your first/second day depending on how far you’ve gotten. You can use the scrap and hide the mats so even if you do get raided the raiders get crap loot. Any base that is easy to take over is frankly not worth unless you’re only playing for one day. The base in the video is good, but I would personally add an external tc to protect it from being griefed and try to implement a secret loot room somewhere so you still keep some loot.

Great base. My only recommendation, this is for all bases really, is to put tc on the same side as the single door. Putting it on the other side like in this tutorial, means if you do die with your two doors open (single and double door) when it’s a 2x1 people can potentially destroy your tc and place a bag inside your base.
@RauTheCow3 жыл бұрын
its should be airlocked and not be affected by the open doors or am I missing something?
@bear5323 жыл бұрын
@@RauTheCow yes you are. If you put the tc on the opposite side of the single door, as in this video, people will be able to see your tc from the outside, regardless of the airlock. If they have a gun with enough ammo or fire arrows they will be able to shoot the tc from the outside. Once tc is destroyed they can place a bag inside the base bypassing the airlock which gives them full control of your base. It’s something that happens very rarely, but it does happen. Since it doesn’t cost any extra material or time to place tc on the same side as the single door there’s no reason not to do it. I hope that helps :).

@Templetaps3 жыл бұрын
Glad to see you back!! Gotta sell em their guns back ;) I did indeed test the raised foundation stability bunker. Unfortunately, a lot of concessions have to be made before the bunker actually increases the raid cost of the base. The entire core has to be upgraded to HQM and the vending machine has to be honeycombed in as well. The triangle above it will also have to be halfwall honeycombed and a few other upgraded and adjustments etc. It can be done, but that budget scope changed a little and there's some vulnerabilities in the foundations for softsiding unless you lower the front foundations and halfwall cap them as well. Overall I just didn't think it was worth it. I am working on a more efficient bunker base though that won't have these problems!

When placing the honeycomb, I use all low foundations because the high foundations stand out due to different corners. Low foundations with half walls cost more but the outside of the base will look consistent all the way around. I love this base, using it right now. I added a crawl space below the false roof. I put a triangle ladder hatch above the front set of furnaces (the ones by the locker/barbeque) for roof access which ended up leading into my crawl space after putting half walls on top for honeycombing the roof. I put another triangle ladder hatch on the now actual roof above the other set of furnaces, which when open leaves half of the ladder sticking through the ceiling in the airlock below preventing anyone from passing through it. My crawl space is only above the main 2 squares, I walled off all of the triangles from the honeycomb except for the one with the hatch in it obviously. You have to crawl in and out but I have no problems traversing through it to the roof. I ended up adding a 2nd story now. It's nice having the half wall crawl space between them. I put all of my wiring stuff and generator in the crawl space as well as a couple large boxes. I wish I could place a sleeping bag in there but I can't. I put my workbench and a bed in one of the 2nd story squares and I placed a large battery and auto turret where you place the workbench. I put the battery right up by the garage door so you can't see it through the doorway(s), the auto turret in the opposite corner which has line of sight through both doorways to the front garage door.

2nd wipe with this build. Modified it with a second story and windmill for turret upgrades and a little extra space. I have yet to be raided. Great built.

I used to play cracked rust back in 2021 and the previous video that showed this base got me through my first solo wipe in the game. Thank you very much 🫡

This may be one of the most perfect 2x1 designs.. so small most tend to ignore it, yet you can be absolutely loaded in there.
