They should stop offering that 128gb model now in 2019. I mean phones these days are offering that as their base
@TheshBuilds5 жыл бұрын
It’s very possible to survive with 128GB only, especially if you’re streaming your music and store most of your photos and videos on google photos or iCloud. Additionally, there's a thunderbolt 3 port for any external storage requirements.

It has slightly the same score as 2012 Xeon Mac Pro, and only 1,000 points below the 2013 Mac Pro. This 2019 portable(U) i5 processor is very crazy, beats 2012 PC Xeon. The 2018 13-inch entry-level model has a single thread score of 4520 and a multi-core result of 16629. so there's a substantial gain at the same price-point. Comparing that to our 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro with a six-core i7 Processor which got a single core score of 5081 and a multi-core score of 22143, the refreshed base model 13-inch MacBook Pro is no slouch.

The single core score beating last gen isn't surprising - it would be running in single core boost clocks the whole time. The base clock applies to a full load on all cores, in which case the higher aggregate performance of all four cores would still beat the previous gen.

SSD upgrade prices have also come down yesterday, and that was what inflated the 15 inches prices the most. However it is true, unless you have a very demanding workflow like Editing RAW footage or over 4k, or perhaps doing some extra 3d animation, i think these new 13 inch with some added storage, RAM are the Sweetspot now. Add a good monitor and an eGPU and you have a versatile mobile/desk setup

Hi Jon, I don't understand why you, together with all other KZbinrs, have been hyping about "the cheapest macbook pro" being good. Your video compares the newest 2019 MBP i5 with 2017 MBP i5. How is this a valid comparison when the 2017 MBP i5 is running on dual-core while the 2019 is already on quad-core? If anything, this should be compared to the 2018 MBP i5, when i5 was quad-core. The bench and performance of the 2019 MBP isn't surprising news, the only surprising news is that you weren't aware that 2018 MBP i5 was already on quad-core, and already amazingly fast as compared to 2017 MBP. This makes me wonder, are you, along with other KZbinrs, sponsored by Apple to make this video? Cheers.

It's a great computer, for a low price of just $1700! Also, welcome to Hungary! But seriously, for the difference between the hungarian and US price, you could buy a decent used laptop. My daily driver hackintosh laptop is barely worth more that that.

I would say definitely faster than yours, way faster. More than double the performance. It's 25% faster than my Late 2016 max spec 15" 4-core. It costs almost a quarter of mine.

T2 sounds great but a lot of people are having T2 issues and crashes (there’s a 1000 page forum on macrumours on it and a popular KZbin zoneoftech has T2 crashes daily). I don’t Apple Pay or edit video, so I’d rather have no T2 than one, but I can see how a coprocessor like T2 can bring the benefits of arm and apples chip division and the benefits x86 and using legacy apps.

@@evancrazyerror Nah, Macrumors is trashy. I haven't had any T2 security chip issues with my 2018 MBP.
@evancrazyerror5 жыл бұрын
samuel murillo but the thing is macrumours is a site for Apple fanboys. If they say Apple does something wrong you know it’s serious. And T2 crashes only really happen if you use thunderbolt accessories. If you don’t use an eGPU or a thunderbolt ssd or something of the sorts the chances of a crash is very low. Also a lot of people get T2 crashes without even knowing. Symptoms of one would be your system locking up and your fans spinning up to 100%. Then a reboot with a log that says “Bridge OS” (what links the intel CPU and the arm cpu together) caused the panic.

QuarioQuario54321 dude, at most you can do 1080p! But that’s after updating the ram and swap out a HDD with a SDD. Besides, why are you editing 8K video? Hardly anything can display it natively, but also if you’re recording 8K video, which I assume you dropped a ton of money on a RedEpic or An Arri what the heck are you using a 2012 MacBook? At least you should be using the new iMac or fully spec out 2019 MacBook Pro 😂
