@geraldinefields17306 жыл бұрын
In Texas, this is called a cafeteria. It is relatively inexpensive but decent quality food. You pay for each dish you choose. Around $10 for a meal but less if you only get a small salad. There are chain cafeterias such as Luby's, Wyatt's and Picadilly. This is not a buffet as another commenter mentioned. The difference between a cafeteria and a buffet is, in a buffet, the customer helps himself to food and can go back for whatever food he wants, as many times as he wants. People eat a lot of food. Buffets get a lot of business but the price goes way up with quality. There are cheap, horrible food places to very expensive places where you can eat as much steak and lobster as you want. Las Vegas is great on offering various buffets but it is better not to be cheap. A cafeteria style restaurant like Canteen No.1. is a good value. I really like the interior and the compote drinks look refreshing. We do not have many choices for fruit drinks but we usually have strong, sweet, iced tea in the hot American southern states.

How is that quality? Buckwheat porridge is healthy but it's very cheap to make, the cost of the buckwheat is probably $0.15. The vinaigrette is mostly cheap beetroot and carrots I believe. The drink is from a concentrate. Fried chicken is decent. I would not pay that much for it, it's bland taste wise.

@@infiltr80r simple, affordable, balanced food. Can you name smth similar from West cuisine? And are they all made from quality, organic, expensive ingredients ? If so what would be price to customer ?
@infiltr80r5 жыл бұрын
@@ilyag8044 Plenty of western places offer you salads, fish, potatoes etc and it's affordable considering the salaries. Ever since the Soviet era, the produce typically is not organic in that large amounts of chemical fertilizer was used. Also nutritionally, just because something isn't GMO, it's not always of better quality. You can have perfectly organic vegetables which grew in poor soil and are low in nutritional value.

nice video.. but to be clear > a canteen is > a restaurant provided by an organization such as a military camp, college, factory, or company for its soldiers, students, staff, etc. What you are showing is more of a cafeteria / buffet.. A cafeteria is a type of food service location in which there is little or no waiting staff table service, whether a restaurant or within an institution such as a large office building or school. A buffet is a meal consisting of several dishes from which guests serve themselves. Either way - your command of English language is well developed.
