Everytime I hear this song it takes me back, sitting on the floor, mom in her chair plaiting my hair. I would bounce my head to the beat while she bonked me in the head telling me to be still. I love how these brothers expose their vulnerabilites in song. Even when speaking, they are articulate in expressing themselves. Today's "singers" don't express themselves in this way, and it is a shame. Music has a way of saying things in our hearts if only we had the words/chance. I love 70s soul for that very reason -- superb lyrics, beautiful music, and a lesson in hearing of it.

I used to sit up in my room as a kid with this record (and several Chi-Lites records) and play them over and over again. The harmonies these cats put out were a great work out! I would stand in the mirror and sing my little heart out. They don't make them like this anymore.

So its only now I'm Catching up on the One's I missed on his return. It's been a Joyous Trip!
