One explanation for the headless nun, as to why she's headless: It's been theorized that spirits, when they're strong enough to become visible, look like they mentally envision themselves to look. Nuns are and were NOT encouraged to be vain and were not allowed to have mirrors in the past, as they were the essence of vanity. So how well would they be able to envision their faces? A *lot* of ghosts are seen as faceless or headless, especially 'anonymous' non-historical figures-- it's the important people out of history who knew what they looked like, as they had mirrors and even had their portraits painted. So there's a thing for you.
