Thank you for this video. The disciples were ordinary men with human thoughts and desires. I’m 73, and it’s taken an extremely long time for me to realize that my life isn’t about my glory or my happiness, but giving glory to God ! That is what we are to direct our efforts toward. And that gives me Peace.

I hope this scene wakes people up. Are we ready to die for our faith? Are we ready to live our faith even if the whole world hates us? I see many Christians hide in fear if even one person questions the faith. Encourage living the faith together. We should not be ashamed of our Savior.

It’s not black and white like that though. The point is, let nothing come between you and your faith in Christ. Faithfully living a long life is much harder than dying for it. If I had a billion dollars I don’t have to run out and get rid of it then that is of works. I need to be willing to die for my belief in Christ if my billion dollars hinders that then yes get rid of it. I’m to the point in my walk that if I received a billion dollars and the next moment Jesus was trying to rapture me or put me in a martyrdom situation I’d do it in a heartbeat because I realize there’s more to gain from heaven than from earth. The man that sold all he had for the treasure in the field is a picture of this

I love listening to your interpertations. You know the gospels so well I always watch your podcast when I want answers. I already knew all this because I have listened to all the Gospel's over and over with Jonathan on Hallow. Also, Dallas and Jonathan have said that they have surrendered to God and both were broken and the money doesn't matter. In fact, I was in the same position as they were in my life and I surrendered to God. Ever since then I do not have to worry about anything because I am taken care of by God. Many people do not understand the rewards we are given when we give our heart to God. In the Beautitudes Jesus also tells everyone my father will take care of you, look at the birds in the air; they do not reap or sow...but of course you know all of this much better than I do. I just continue to be a child of God. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

@kristenbrowning7287 If you don't like the series, why are you trolling around looking at these videos for people's comments to object to? What you are overlooking is that the series is bringing thousands of people to Christ. I now have a Bible and am reading it because of the Chosen. There is nothing in this series that contradicts scripture or makes the enemy able to steal my soul.

Good catch. Always took that passage sentimentally. How cute! But as you say in that time children are powerless, aware of their total dependence on others. WE, too, are in reality utterly dependent. Unconsciously we try to devise strategies to prolong our lives, and to live in comfort. But in the end, as surely as the ending of the day, so will our lives. WE must hope that for us, a new day will dawn even after the BIG Sleep.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. In reality, not all people study the bible extensively the way biblical scholars and theologians do. Sometimes Christ-minded archeologist are much better in uncovering the truth about important events in the bible. Unless we have the mind of Christ, studying the scriptures would only produce a bigger head rather than a bigger heart. We should also believe the bible not on what it says but on what it means ...

Somebody please explain who the naked boy was in Mark's gospel (MK 14: 51-52) and what he was doing that night of Passover in the garden of Gethsemane, naked, with just a linen cape wrapped around him. This is Passover, everyone is home for Pesach, and this young boy is in the garden and naked, probably cold as well (the evenings are cool). Why did the author of Mark include that story in his gospel? I really want to know.

For context it is worth pointing out that Herod's marriage was opposed by all the various sects in Judaism at the time. His wife Herodias, divorced her husband, which itself was contrary to The Law, as woman were not permitted to initiate divorce proceedings. Herod married Herodias while her ex-husband, Herod's brother Phillip was still alive, which was doubly contrary to The Law. The Torah does not allow a man to marry his sister-in-law if his brother is still alive: “You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s nakedness” (Leviticus 18:16). “If there is a man who takes his brother’s wife, it is abhorrent; he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness. They will be childless” (Leviticus 20:21). Not even Hillel was so liberal as to consent to Herod's marriage to his sister-in-law.

Great perspective on connecting the dots! It is even more clear in Matt. 19 "during the REGENERATION WHEN the Son of man shall sit in His throne of glory!!" vs 28..."the RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS" INCLUDING legal MARRIAGES AND DIVORCES..that ultra strict law on divorce given by Jesus to His disciples! Interesting that the conversation happened in King Herod's district after John was beheaded for criticizing the king for his illegal ADULTEROUS DIVORCE AND RE-MARRIAGE! Jesus's rules for marriage and divorce caused the disciples to ask ..."then who can be saved?" And also..."then it is better NOT TO MARRY"! By bringing in the little children, who basically knew nothing spiritually speaking of the Scriptures...Jesus was telling the rich young ruler to "give up all his knowledge of keeping the law and thus understand the "LAW of INHERITANCE". IN HEBREWS 9, Paul expounds on this high principle of INHERITING ETERNAL LIFE and applying it the death of Jesus. ..."receiving the PROMISE OF OUR ETERNAL INHERITANCE" The rich ruler's question is what made Jesus very sad..."What shall I DO to INHERIT eternal life?" Such a very high TRUTH that he did not comprehend,, even though he spoke it...."inheritance is a gift"...you just ARE a child of God and He wrote YOUR name in His last will and testament as a beneficiary of Eternal Life before the foundation of the world. And upon the death of the Testator, His last will and testament finally has the STRENGTH to GRANT YOU YOUR "ETERNAL INHERITANCE". Well done Brandon. thanks for sharing and opening up the Scriptures as to the time and place of this incredible discussion between Jesus and His disciples. But note also who was on His left and right hands on those 3 crosses. On Messiah's right hand; "Remember Me when you come into YOUR KINGDOM"..."TODAY, YOU SHALL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE...the perfect rest of death, My Kingdom! Oh, the death of our Testator! On His left hand: "Come down and save yourself and US TOO from death!" "For where a testament is there MUST also of necessity be the death of the Testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead; otherwise it is of no strength at all while the Testator liveth!" Heb. 9:16,17.

What’s interesting is that Mark is our earliest gospel and Jesus does not permit divorce for any reason so it appears he is on the side of Shammai. Luke appears to agree with Mark. However, Matthew adds a caveat and allows for divorce if πορνεία is involved. And in its Greek context, that can mean a multitude of things. So in that sense he appears to be more liberal like Hillel. Another interesting thing that Matthew adds to Mark is that in his account it’s the mother of James and John that makes the request. anyway, this was a great presentation and heartfelt message. But I am wondering what does everybody think about the differing of the accounts between Matthew Mark and Luke?

What is “sexual immorality” in Matthew 19:9? Some talks about adultery, some fornication… I read an explanation which (based on the Greek word used here) quotes the Leviticus law which talks about prohibited unions like with your father’s wife and so on. Can you explain, please?
@ajamusic7322
@ajamusic7322 Жыл бұрын
Prohibited unions like what is mentioned in Levoticus are unions that are not valid marriages. Since they are not valid marriages, engaging in the marital act would be sexually immoral since the marital act is reserved for marriage. So "divorcing" them is rather annuling the invalid union and putting a stop to the immorality that came forth from it.

You lack serious spiritual discernment if you believe the disciples of Christ could in any way prohibit Jesus from fulfilling God's will.

Great job on explaining this section on Jesus Christ name in His life story. As a believer trusting in Jesus Christ name as He is all wisdom and love as the Son of God . Everyone has a time and a season of gods relevation to them personally . It can happen at any time Jesus Christ choses when you least expect it. Yet you have to chose as well. YES is preferred of course. Life eternal. Yes surrender and rise in Jesus Christ name. What you may call born again in the holy Spirit power annoited by God Almighty. You come to an understanding and wisdom to walk in faith moment by moment. Trusting in Jesus Christ name and His words. Yes its very profound and outstounding at first yet , like example remember old testament , Moses when he returns from meeting with God in the Burning Bush and having a conversation with him standing on Holt ground, he had to remove his sandal s . Well he transformed . Yet the same but changed forever even in his appearance and speech . Authority comes through to speak to others. In ministry. So as you shared today in your video was well done! Thank you and god bless you and those who see this upcoming movie in February 2024 . Trusting in Jesus Christ name to touch hearts and share His compassion with people. Just enjoy and just be and God bless you! 😁♥️🙏🇺🇲🌵☀️🕯️🎼🎶🎵 Peace and love and joy!

Brother Robbins - a friend just sent me this. It's good... you seem to be doing a good work here. Only 'issue' I have with/ this is having to hear you repeatedly state "Jesus NEEDS (this, that etc)" God needs nothing. He lacks nothing. It would be better had you stated "Christ Jesus WANTS us to be..." Just sayin'. Keep up the good works, though.

Our King Jesus...was never whiney or hysterical sounding.. He always moved and spoke with terrifying authority... The Chosen...should rededicate...their intent to show the Majesty...of Our King (AT ALL TIMES) even as he negotiated problems on earth

AGREE I am not a fan of "The Chosen"....The way they portray Jesus at times is ridiculous.....READ YOUR BIBLE.....KNOW THE TRUTH.....Do not rely on Hollywood to give accurate biblical teaching

Jesus was a man with feelings. This is important to know.

Our King was flesh and had feelings..but he was empowered by God..who was with him...making him sharp and bold.. Everything he did glorified God A whiney and hysterical Savior..does not Glorify God.. If you pray about this honestly God will confirm for you that Jesus...had a beautiful soft heart with feelings..but he was zealously and radically in love with God and his path was forged by the Kingly Fortitude.. Whinging and hysterical behavior is how a Babylonian spoiled King might behave. Our King is Fierce and loving but not to trifled with..He speaks with authority to Elders even as a child...He would not argue from emotional weakness in front of disciples after..forging his path with greater and firmer authority... Jesus frightened the Pharisees with his aura of authority... Whining hysterical ness....is not authority and it is not Glorifying to God...and it dies not command the respect that was his mission... God does not fail....God does not whine...or become stressed into becoming hysterical.. I don't need to be right personally.. But I defend the Honor and Dignity of Our Beloved and Mighty King...who was THE MIGHTIEST OF HEROES.. THE BRAVEST OF THE BRAVE THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES.. He endured torture beyond being recognized as human (Isaiah says this)...without crying out..or losing his focus . A couple of dumb disciples is not going to shake his cool...and make him whine like a woman..

Totalling confusing for me. He is saying the Apostles believe Jesus will be King of all the people as Herod was a King. The Apostles don't believe he is our Creators son born of the Virgin Mary to save us from our sins? Do the Apostles believe all Kings performed miracles on people as Jesus did? I've watched The Chosen 3 times already. I am Catholic and never got the impression that the Apostles believed Jesus was going to be there King of their Country. This is very confusing. I don't know now if I will be able to watch Season 4 when it comes out.

I hope you don't refuse to see Season 4 because of confusion else how do you process solutions to your confusion? Rather focus on digesting the viewpoints presented to help you see through the eyes of each character. What you see will not be the same as what I see as our backgrounds, listening skills and visual cues all change and set us up for different triggers. I love that my husband shares his thoughts and observations with me as we debrief after watching episodes, sometimes more than once. Like reading scripture you always glean something new from reviewing them. Getting to see how the writers and producers pull from the actors and settings the drama unfolds. I love that word - unfold. This should help you overcome your impression confusion. Blessings.
