He's better than Leonardo DiCaprio. Why? Leo never gives anyone a chance to direct him even if he finds the script good. Bale will give any director a chance to direct him. He also plays his role to the very best.

I think he’s one of the best actors we have ever had. When an actor can be in a movie and you don’t even know it’s him at first, that makes a truly great actor. Most of these actors all sound the same on every movie. Bale doesn’t at all. I love most of his movies. Even if some have bad writing he makes them all so much better.

It was more of a culture clash. Shane Hurlbut came from the world of music videos and action movies, where filming schedules are jam-packed and cinematographers need to be very efficient - constantly thinking two steps ahead, setting-up multiple scenes at a time. No time for waiting around for inspiration or personal process, just get it done. And that's how he went into Terminator Salvation. From his perspective, it was a set-piece movie. His responsibility was laying track in front of a moving train, so that the production could keep chugging along - because that's the only way you can make those kinds of movies. During that infamous scene, he was just being proactive. On the other hand Bale's process as an actor is getting completely lost in his roles, and he went into Terminator Salvation treating it like a serious character study. With plenty of experience working for filmmakers who carefully create the conditions on set that allow that kind of performance to flourish. Having crew doing work in the same room - breaking Bale's immersion, and ruining his eyeline - would have made it almost impossible for him to stay in the moment. Like a Mariachi Band blaring music during a heart surgery. Hurlbut probably thought he was being a minor nuisance, but justified in doing so (given the movie he thought he was making) - while Bale probably knew he was being an asshole, but felt justified (given the movie *he* thought he was making). They just didn't realise how unprofessional they were being from the others' perspective. But these kinds of clashes and misunderstandings happen on big projects - and aren't that uncommon in movie history. The real problem was that someone leaked the audio, and damaged the public's perception of the film and career of the star. That's not defensible.

@Mukation
@Mukation 5 ай бұрын
@@vanessac1721 The script in and of it self was probably not terrible, if you just try to put the plot to it's fundamentals, the story is quite good. Thor no longer knows his purpose. Thanos is dead, earth has protectors like Doctor Strange, New Asgard has a ruler and protectior in Valkery, he does't know his purpose. His mother in Endgame told him to stop being who he "should" be and just be who he "is" and he doesn't really know _who_ he is. What his purpose is. Gorr shows up, kidnapps Asgardian children, and Thor goes after them. Over the course of the film he mends the relationship with Jane, sees the corruption of the gods (Zeus being a coward etc) and gets a better understanding for how kids feel and bonds with Heimdalls child at the end, finally Thor still loses, Gorr reaches Infinity before them. There Gorr comes to realise that not all Gods are evil, after Thor snapps at him and just walks away to be with Jane and his final wish ends up being to bring his child back to life instead of killing all gods after Jane and Thor tells him that he'll take care of her. And there, Thors entire family is gone, the woman he loves is dead, but Thor finds his new purpose in the form of a child: Thor has become a father. At it's surface it could have been a great ass movie and a fantastic "finale" for Hemsworths Thor. BUT Taika Waititi just overdid the comedy. He introduced a string of comedy in Ragnarok which was fun, but then he really dialed it up tenfold in Love and thunder and that is why it just did not fucking work. It was way to much comedy sprinkled in to the serious concepts that the film presented.

Rowan Atkinson is one of the best method actors of his generation and beyond. Often when I'm asked who is the best actor of the 20th century I can't make up my mind between Brando and Atkinson. Most famous for Mr.Bean, the role often confiscates the brilliance of it, since it's a portray of a sad, somewhat stupid and vile, comedic character that in manny ways is only surpassed with the likes of Chaplin. I mean Mr. Bean is one of the top 5 most recognisable characters in the world due to lack of language barriers. Only superheroes with a 50+ years old legacy and very few other characters have that level of recognition. And the show aired less then 30 episodes!. If you ever go and listen to an interview with him, you will be astounded by the lvl of transformations he undertakes to portray his roles. He's a genius lvl IQ, degrees in multiple areas of engineering, can pick apart and put together most of car engines, and was the fastest "star in a reasonably priced car" for years, since he is a kinda of a Steve McQueen racing and a speed freak! The man is so underrated as an actor it's only rivaled by his sheer fucking talent.

How is it special? It's super basically shot & made in almost every single way. Spielberg in director-for-hire mode took the far, far superior JG Ballard novel and made it into a standard, sappy cheese-fest. It's literally one of those classroom movies either a history teacher throws on, or an English teacher might throw on for the class after reading the book.

Leo won the Oscar for The Revenant which wasn’t a bad performance but it wasn’t his best either…..I loved Tom Hardy’s performance in it and hoped that he wins for the supporting actor. Leo has other movies with good acting performances and won for a mediocre one. But Bale, man every performance is different and awesome physically, mentally and verbally. It’s just bad writing in some of his movies and as he said American Psycho wasn’t as famous as today, so some of his movies were ahead of their time. He also didn’t mention his underrated performance in movies like The Prestige, The Fighter and Ford vs Ferrari etc.

Him yelling at the guy sounds WAYYY more reasonable after learning he's a method actor who was hired to use that method to embody the character. Then they take him, have him get into the most intense life and death mental state he can muster. And then tell him action. And then the cinematographer (who should know better) walks into the space completely throwing off the moment. All that intensity had to go somewhere, I suppose. Idk, just doesn't seem as bad as back in 2009 when I first heard it and thought he was just being stuck up.
