Thank you for highlighting Citizen’s The Citizen line. From what I have seen, they are remarkable and it’s hard to find good content and reviews on them. I’ve had my eye on this line for a couple years now and hoping to experience one soon.

It looks like the guy that was assembling it sneezed just before he put the crystal on

I’ve tried this one on at the NYC boutique. It’s really beautiful, super light and every bit as good as a GS.

The Citizen and the Chronomasters are hot pieces.

That model is incredibly beautiful. It is extremely unique in design - that makes it not “for everyone.”

Great call out. Just recently purchased an AQ4020-54Y (white) after searching for a 37 mm and am awaiting delivery.

Historically, citizen was the only company that challenged Seiko when it came to Grand Seiko and the grammar of design. They produced The Glorious as a direct response to Grand Seiko but unfortunately couldn't continue to compete at that level. Unfortunately today when you think of Citizen you either think of gaudy low end mall watches or very nice but highly derivative quartz pieces. They don't seem to have their own design language and for what they charge on the high end I may as well get a GS. Plus the forums are littered with complaints that those quartz pieces are often out of spec when worn. Bring back the mechanical The Glorious as your flagship model and probably spin the high end part of the company away from the main one as GS did.

I got 2 of these The Citizen's. Super quality pieces and the dials are always top notch

To me, the Citizen makes the best quartz movements. In their 500USD range, all their seconds hand align to the markers. Not even Omega does that.

Maybe Citizen quartz will eventually get more coverage. They should. The 0100 Caliber should be recognised for the brilliance that it is. Most accurate quartz movement ever. Rated to 1 second a year is damn impressive. This watch is a home run. You're getting a lot of watch for the money.

The true model that punches way above its weight is the NB1060.

@Zack, WTH is wrong with Citizen, awesome mechanics and then the put in a gold plated case, I just do not get why? Their Peers (G.S) will never be caught dead with gold plating. I wish they left the gold out
@ZachKazan26 күн бұрын
Citizen makes multiple versions of The Citizen with a variety of case finishes so if the gold isn’t to your taste, you can still (probably) find a watch with this movement that you’d like.

This is eco-drive, means solar powered quartz, not a mechanical automatic

Beautiful, but why oh why have a white date wheel?

I love their high end watches! I do think they made a branding mistake by not changing the font or naming it something special on the dial ala “Grand Seiko”. People don’t want to be mistaken for wearing a $150 Citizen. And/or… that logo should at least be raised/inlaid.

Gorgeous watch, would love to get one, but way out side my price range. Are they going to release any more watches based on the caliber 0100 that +and- one second per year?

Previously a JDM exclusive product, Citizen started selling and supporting a select number of these in North America as of January 2024. BTW, I know that “No one’s talking about” is a marketing pitch to your video, but that’s a way of disregarding everyone who has come before, talking about The Citizen. Thanks for that.
