In honor of Brun, who sort of becomes the protagonist of this chapter, chapter image for this video is a picture of a mummified Steppe Bison (Brun's totem) that was found in remarkable condition buried and frozen in Alaska. It's now on display at the University of Alaska Museum of the North. Photo courtesy of wikimedia commons en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steppe_bison#/media/File:Steppe_bison_mummy.jpg

My guy, this is one of my favorite book series of all time. The way you read this is on par with some high-octane, big-money audiobooks. You really do justice to the emphasis and emotion in the story, and I can only hope you see fit to read the other books in the series. I have enjoyed listening to your reading so far, and look forward to more. Shit, even if I don't have a lot of interest in GRRM's stuff, I'm probably going to listen to those too, just to hear more of you. This is epic-purple storytelling. Thank you for doing this.

Brun is showing his true colours in all the best ways. Circumspect and measured with decisions, and receptive to the ideas/opinions presented. If Broud is toxic masculinity, then Brun is responsible masculinity.

That toxic Masculinity is the reason why the human race exists in its modern form. This is a work of fiction with a clear Feminist slant. I bet you haven't shaved your armpits in years.

I'm visually impaired and greatly appreciate your work. My daughter heard me listening to the last chapter. She asked for my phone, looked at the channel name. She handed my phone back, grinned and told me she was going to start the book too.

Zhug is the absolutely the best character. We should all be like Zhug.
@DavidReadsASoIaF3 жыл бұрын
Hell yeah. The Clan's A-team is clearly Zoug, Droog, Goov, Brun, and Creb. The rest of the men can go pound sand as far as I'm concerned.

@@DavidReadsASoIaF i think it speaks of how a true man must be. I think the positive male qualities are exemplified in these characters because they all share one very important quality that is very important for a male. Its a quality that over centuries evolved due to societal and biological needs. Self-Control. The males are very strong and can easily hurt their fellow clansmen if they lacked self control both character and body to be safe around the rest of the tribe. I think this need for males to be able to control their body and temper evolved in the centuries and milenia into codes of chivalry and the consept of a gentelman. From a biological and societal perspective of a caveman the ideal man is one who is strong and fierce but cool headed and controled able to take a step back and make descision and control his strength so he doesnt hurt his fellow tribe.

If the men had been doing their job of protecting instead wanting to hunt smaller animals, while the women were butchering the mammoth, this wouldn't have happened.
