A genius. Despite all the criticisms we’ve seen of his theory, we see many of his predictions here like on Russia, Turkey, Islam and the torn countries as spot on 3 decades later. Whether or not this is the best framework for looking at the modern world, nobody can deny the worldwide successes that the theory has had and give Huntington crude dismissals as racist etc. I’ve looked for this talk before, great to see it uploaded!

Only three comments? It was a very influential theory in 1992, so well worth hearing it from the horse's mouth. To what extent has he been proven right? He seems to have hit a number of points right on, like Russia.

In his 1996 book, following his 1992 article, Huntington suggests that Russia, Japan and India could be swing states; while also charecterizing Russia and perhaps Mexico as torn states!

Enoch Powell in the late sixties spoke about the rivers of blood (talking about the UK) I look at the numbers of illegals entering Europe, UK and the US. Huntingdon expanded on Powell's narrative.finacialky, look at the breakaway Brics nations setting up their own economic policy moving away from the petrodollar. The west as a civilisation is in decline.

I was in college at the time his paper was published and became controversial. I thought the old man was crazy. After the collapse of communist countries the future looked bright and globalization would bring prosperity to many countries. In retrospect, Huntington was right in most accounts. The man is a genius.

Sometimes, so called crazy people have the most clarity on things, Huntingdon and Enoch Powell 1969, UK politician, spoke about the rivers of blood. While Powell spoke about black people, this can be applied to the illegal immigrants. But look at the move away from the petrodollar and the formation of the BRICS nations and also the rise of islam and the move towards a NWO and digital currency etc.

Look at Enoch Powell in the late sixties, he spoke about the 'Rivers of Blood) in the UK. But this idea can be expanded to the west as a whole with the illegal immigrants. Also look at the move away from the petrodollar by the newly formed BRICs nations. The west as a civilisation is in decline.
