Classy tips. I will say, opinions can obviously be wrong and, without debating, we are saying that truth doesn’t matter.

This video is probably the best PSA for not drinking! Maybe it's a regional thing but here in California a lot of us have moved on from drinking. We get to text, e-mail, make calls, shop. drive home or drive anywhere, not have anyone have to "check" us, wake up the next morning feeling great, protect our livers and giggle at how silly the drunk people behave. It is after all, simply a beverage.

Thank you. It is not regional. It's more of the circle you associate with.

Hope you had a wonderful birthday. Im sure you did.😂 A good trick I use to manage my drinking is I wear two or three bangle bracelets on one arm and every drink I order, I transfer it to the other arm. Once all the bracelets are on the other arm, I know to stop drinking. Its a nice visual cue for me. I totally agree with the text message tip. Thanks for the invaluable info as usual. 🎉

Yes! Was saving this video for today while I declutter the closet and do my cardio - SUCH a great topic! Yes! My summertime trigger - long at-homes with friends who make incredible craft cocktails. So delicious! But important to enjoy responsibly and with class. Excellent tips - especially the one about posting on social media. Thank you!

Happy birthday, Tracy! I took part in your workshop, Create Your Own Workout Routine, yesterday. I knew it would be great and it was. I was excited when I got the email link for the replay, today. I'm about to rewatch it and add to my notes. I had a heart attack on April 27. I need to create a routine that is usable for me. One that I will stick to. Thank you. I have grown so much, mentally, thanks to you. It's time for my physical health to grow, too. xo~linda

Great reminders! I’d add to be careful choosing what outfit you wear if you know you’ll be imbibing: I’ve seen many ladies (at work holiday parties) show embarrassingly too much while dancing because they choose, for example, a cocktail dress and then wore skimppies underneath. They get a little too loose on the dance floor and we all get to see more than we ever wanted to see!

I’m so glad you did this video! I needed it! Every time I would have a glass of wine, I would keep going. In my mind I would think I’m ok, but I would black out or say something I would regret. Husband would advise not to have another, but in my mind, I’m perfectly fine. This video will have to be learned and chiseled in my brain. Thank you!

When I realised that my occassional drinking, even if it was a half glass of wine, would affect me I accepted that my body just doesn´t need it and thus reacts very strange to it. Also sometimes I drank too much in my opinion. The only solution is not to drink alcohol at all. It is not worth it and I am free of the pressure to handle it. Also I don´t do any other drugs, why would I have to be able to handle alcohol.

Thank you for the video. Interesting tips. I would like to add one thing which ties in with your number 10. I think it is important to demonstrate class by respecting the choices of people around us who may not want to drink or who are living in sobriety. It is very common to try to “tempt” someone into trying a sip. It is my opinion that it is best to make someone feel welcome by not joking around with their boundaries. How unfortunate it would be to make someone feel embarrassed. Even worse - if a woman says she won’t be drinking, do NOT ask if she is expecting!!! She will tell you when she is ready!!!!
@TracyHensel
@TracyHensel Жыл бұрын
Thank you for contributing. This is sound advice. Our household policy is if someone disrespects a person by 'tempting' them, they will be removed from our circle. The same applies for eating. Disrespect in this way will not be tolerated. Paul and I are fortunate no one in our circle would even think to tempt him. Our circle of family and friends find his decision admirable. There are also a few that have a desire to follow suit due to lack of drinking control, but have not been able to execute in stepping away from their problem. It it a personal decision and one to be respected. Thanks again.

Hey Tracy! Have a great 52nd year! You said Paul doesn’t drink. My husband stopped drinking also. Does Paul have a “special’ drink that he has in place of an alcoholic drink. I think that’s the hardest thing is having something for special occasions that’s not a Shirley temple or diet soda?
@TracyHensel

Thank you, Tammy. No, Paul has not needed something 'special' to feel like he is still celebrating.
