You may use wired keyboard and mouse, too. Just make sure they are connected to the monitor and monitor connects to your phone with USB-c. Even wired network works for high speed internet.

I got a Samsung M7 Monitor with USB C. There is not even a need to switch mouse&keyboard, the monitor acts like a usb-c hub. so If I unplug my work computer and plug in my Galaxy S7 tab, my mouse and keyboard automatically change to the tablet. The samsung monitor would even work wirelessly without the usb-c cable to the tablet. however not in full resolution and fps. with cable I can do 4k 60hz

I don't think the display type matters here. As long as it goes USBC to HDMI. It's mostly whether or not the cable will support dex

Do you need a KVM switch in monitor if you plan to use only the DEX device? Would any monitor with USB ports work? I plan on DEX being my sole device at this particular desk

Any monitor with usb ports should work provided the monitor has a usb-c connection to phone

I bought a little hub device with multiple usb ports plus hdmi. Connects direct into the phone, plus standard usb keyboard and mouse. Connected to my work citrix successfully, so i have full access to all my office programmes etc. Only thing is teams not recognising my microphone. Also would be great to have dual screen but might settle for a massive widescreen.

Why do the keyboard and mouse need to be wireless? Can't you use an adaptor which you can plug into your phone and then plug in the keybourd and mouse?

Setup is not clean at all , cleanest setup is wireless Dex to samsung Tv/monitor , use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse without Donald directly connect to phone via Bluetooth... no wires needed ... For long term use you can connect powerbank with phone or wireless charger or power adapter ..

Actually it's surprisingly really affordable. One of the cheapest high refresh monitors when I bought it. ~$300 aud
