i was about to ponder how reading these books as a preteen altered my life but then it struck me one of the plot points is Massie convincing Alicia to tell her her biggest secret so it’ll create a bond that will make it difficult for either of them to break, and in a state of intense adolescent loneliness i told who i considered my best friend that i was this other girl’s biggest fan and really admired her, just hoping it would bring us closer but it completely backfired and she told everyone i was a lesbian and that’s how i learned i was gay. and for some reason the other half of the story where Massie spills Alicia’s secret and ruins their relationship never ever crossed my mind that it would happen to me as well. “Um, conversation between the taco and burrito, NACHO”😂😂😂 At first I was like, “she got a little ghetto accent all of a sudden”😂 so I kept rewinding it cuz I talk like that but then I heard the food joke which made it ten times funnier
