As someone who was a barista for 4 years, it's not an easy job to do. There are so many elements to everything and you have to balance baking, taking orders, making orders, and customer service as well as memorizing a ton of recipes and info on those recipes all within a very limited time frame. I loved being a barista, but it's a very difficult job.

Cistumer service jobs are *hard work*. Especially in the food industry, holy crap. You have to memorize recipes, have to constantly have a pleasant customer face, in some cases have friendly, polite chats with people... it's exhausting work, and the farthest thing from easy, no matter how able bodied/neurotypical you are.

It's easy if you work in a store that is slow. I work in fast food. Flipping burgers and packing fries into cartons isn't difficult, but it becomes a lot harder when you have 10 orders coming in at once and the manager is nagging you to try and average completing an order every 2 minutes or less.

Haven’t been that startled from a jump scare in a loooong time. I once had a “regular” when I was a server that really crossed several lines as he would stay in the establishment for very long hours only when I would work shifts, leave large tips and hold that over my head. Constantly make crude comments. He started staying until I would clock out at night and insist on walking me to my car and sometimes follow me out of the parking lot, and he usually had been drinking. An incident happened and my male manager finally took me seriously. I stopped working there and never saw him again. But still, it escalated and scared the crap out of me. This game scares the crap out of me too.

Japanese games and movies are the scariest. My first horror film was the Japanese "The Ring" and the game Resident Evil 3 when I was 8 years old. Even then I realized that Japanese horrors are scarier than American ones. I do not know why. Although they were very much inspired by the American writers Poe, Lafcraft, King. Sorry for my bad english. I'm still using google translator :)

What I like about this game is that it properly conveys the fear response that people, in this case women, would have if they were being stalked. If you pay attention, there is more than one guy being creepy towards you or that freaks you out. The guy that you returned the phone to and was ultimately the stalker in your home, the young guy in the hoodie that stood outside the windows, the other young guy who paid for the other man, the guy asking for your number, and the guy who left a note at the drive-thru. All this time you think "Is that him? Or is that the guy? Or him?" because you're not really sure. You think it's definitely gotta be the guy from the beginning, and it is, but the game trips you up and makes you wonder. And, I don't know if this was intentional or not. But the two different notes you see seem like they are from two different people. The first one says "we met at Chilla's." Unless the guy from the parking lot had met you as a customer and then followed you back to your apartment complex and that is where you see him in game, then that's not him. Because that is where you met him. In the parking lot. Someone else met you at Chilla's when you were working. It's possible that the MC has two different stalkers. But I might just be mistaken. I just know that the guy who ordered milk and the parking lot guy have two different character designs. But that's what I love about this game. It's a very real thing that can happen and there's more than one possibility for the truth. It's so creepy, I love it. Glad you played it.
@hildielover
@hildielover 2 жыл бұрын
The notes are from the same people I think, in the second one he says "she picked up my phone and went out of her way to give it to me. I knew she felt the same way I did" which means he was there stalking her already, and he took this interaction as her reciprocating. He also said "today is our anniversary " which most likely refers to a year of him stalking her.
@erikas2423
@erikas2423 Жыл бұрын
Both notes are from the same person. If you pay attention to the little details, you can tell it's all him. They probably just met at Chilla's a while back since in the second note he says it's their anniversary so he's been stalking her for a while. He's the only stalker, everyone else is just a weirdo.

At 36:32 it was the customer who said "don't nihongo jozu me", he's the one who is not Japanese but has been living there for 15 years. The only pastries he ordered were the ones that had "American" in the name lol The way the game shows the dialogue sometimes makes it unclear who's talking.

Multiple times people mention the protagonist's looks, telling her she's not pretty enough to have any worries about creeps. But not only is that mean because everyone is beautiful in their own way, it's stupid, because stalking and sexual harassment has nothing to do with the victim. The perpetrator is sick in the head and doesn't care who they hurt for self-gain.- or can't understand the reality of what they're doing, as seems to be the case with this guy, he's deluded like in the movie Joker.

Kinda reminds of the time my sister got stalked by some biker guy. She was out with a friend for dinner and the guy approached her and he got progressively creepy while they talked so she asked him to leave her alone. He threw a fit so the staff made him leave and when my sister left to go home he was waiting outside and followed her to her car and tried to follow her home but thankfully she was coming to visit me so we called the cops on him. He continued to harass her for a few weeks but any time she tried to report it she got met with either "Sorry, nothing we can do for you." Or "You should be flattered someone wants to stalk you." He finally fucked off after our brother lent her his huge af dog and it tried to attack him when she took it out on a walk

About the mom and the empty stroller: I'd theorize that as the mom clearly zooms by with her kid like we've seen, she probably got into some kind of accident and lost her baby. Maybe they got ran over by a car (maybe even on the parking lot) and the baby died, but she definetely couldn't fully come to terms with it, even going as far as walking around with her empty stroller - albeit not as fast - as if nothing had happened. But she DOES know what happened, so that's why she was crying. Or maybe the stalker killed the baby, as he could've seen the mom being rude to the main character and thought she deserved to be punished somehow! Plus, your name was on the supporters list, Gabs! Jack shows it on his video, it was really sweet seeing your name there!

God yes. I feel this is the scariest Chilla's art game so far, only because it's so real and it can ACTUALLY happen! I worked as a cashier in a grocery store and I had a guy that consistently came through my register, asked for my number, then he eavesdropped on a conversation between me and one of my coworkers. He then started talking about things I liked because he'd overheard it, and when he learned I liked hiking, he invited me to go on a hike with him. Yeah, immediately I told him my computer was fucked up and I had to get a manager. The dude was creepy af and we had the police called on him a few times for harrassing other girls in the store, and asking them to go on hikes with him. He was so fucking gross, I hope no one ever accepts him (because you know creeps like him are still doing shit like that). Thankfully my store was great and would often assign a male manager if there was ever a closing female staff member, and it was required that they walk them to their cars and such. Another girl in my store was actually chased by a man and she was nearly kidnapped. People are fucking disgusting and awful...I truly don't understand them

Okay for real though? One of my very dear friends grew up with an unconventional type of ED that had to do with taste, smell, and texture, so his diet was extremely restrictive for a long time and one of the safe drinks was milk. (He's since gotten consultation and regularly works through said condition, which is awesome!) He would in fact go to Starbucks and order a cup of milk. He knew how weird it was, but it seems like the employees are usually kind of amused and would remember him fondly for it. I guess practically speaking it's very low effort for them and he has such a gentle, nerdy sort of presence. I thought of him as soon as I realized you were making straight cups of milk for the order around 40 minutes and started to laugh. About to text him like "finally you've gotten some representation in gaming" 🤣 Getting hit on as a retail/food service worker though... ugh... it's such a trap! You're stuck cause you have to be polite to people and you can't just walk away when you're working. I got it a lot when I worked at a comic book shop and then my boss said I got complaints that I "seemed like I hated being there" because I was trying to work during really busy shifts and they kept trying to flirt 💀 explained that to my boss and he went "well that's irrelevant" and kept berating me.

Pretty much all of these customer interactions (right down to the half naked man) are sadly, not too uncommon and I have had my fair share of all of these experiences.. At my current job, some of my colleagues have protection orders against certain patrons because of situations like this game; and that is why this game is so damn scary for me lol. Said he was gonna sue every librarian for racism...the guy was white. Told him okay but was extremely shaken so reported it to my job and the next time I saw him, called non-emergency police. I don't get why people say the letters are from different people... Both letters talk to or about the main character in a creepily "loving," yearning way. They both make a point out of small details, like "She smiled at me" and "She talked to me." They both discuss their infatuation with her, saying "Just thinking about her makes my heart pound," and "I knew she felt the same way I did. We are in love." They both take note of dates, addressing "The day we first met" and "Today is our anniversary." They're clearly written by the same person. The stalker just met her at Chilla's some time previously. He even mentions it's been at least a year of him stalking her. Also, even in the theory where there's two stalkers, both are violent, and both are creepily obsessive. I hate it when people say otherwise, just proves you weren't paying attention.

Spoilers: for people that didnt notice, there is actually two different "stalkers". the first stalker is the long tall guy with the creepy face, who we are introduced with at the beginning that we helped return his phone. we see him after we get off the bus, and also when he comes into the coffee shop once and doesnt buy anything and just sits the whole time and then leaves. the second stalker is the man in the hoodie. he is the one that creepily stands outside the store windows as we talk with the old man at the register. he also then comes in and orders pastries and a bunch of milk, and sits in the blind spot of the store and leaves the photo of us on the table. it is then revealed that HE is the one who has been living in the back of the store. so in conclusion to clear things up, the phone guy stalker, is the one that actually physically tries to attack us and depending on what ending you get, murders us; and the second stalker, hoodie dude, is the milk guy that was snapping pics of us and living in the store, but doesnt actually physically harm us. you can tell they are two different men bc 1. their faces are very different (hoodie guy is much younger looking and generally has a nicer looking face) 2. phone stalker guy and also the one that jumpsacres us at the closing sign (and eventually attacks us) is like 6'6" whereas hoodie milk guy is only around 5'6". you can tell the height difference by comparing when each walk into the cafe and walk past the bookcases by the door! 3. their clothes Anyways-just thought i'd share this since i dont think i've watched one lets player who actually came to this realization that there were two different stalkers!

What better than a new video uploaded by Gab after a grueling 8h shift! So glad to distract my mind from work! ... I work as a barista. I howled at the filter coffee used for latte (filter coffee + milk is a "cafe au lait" or coffee with milk/ steamed milk, a latte is an espresso + steamed milk) Jokes aside, they have nailed the interactions with customers, including them leaving without a word after getting their order. And creepy customers, I had a woman coming every day at the same time who just drank her coffee fixing me, so creepy. After like a month, she asked for my number and I was like ... Girl if you had asked the first day, maybe but now no you're creeping me out. Another customer, a grown a** man just yelled at me one morning because his order of "extremely hot latte" was "not hot enough". Enjoy your burnt milk. For stalkers, the most important thing is that if a client asks you info about one of your coworker, you keep your mouth shut. Their hours ? you don't know. Are they married ? You don't know. Are they single ? YOU DON'T KNOW. So many of my (mostly male) colleagues just gave this type of info willy nilly and I was just ... You have clearly never been followed in the street by a client.

It can be… especially on popular shops because while you’re trying to work, you’re also thinking of multiple secondary stocking, cleaning, or management tasks that need to be done, sometimes keeping track of 2 or 3 drinks with different steps and ingredients asynchronously, all while your every movement is being closely tracked by store guests. On top of that, popular shops ask you to smile, remember customers and have meaningful interactions with them.

Gotta say, after watching John and manly play through this I an honestly glad to watch a woman play it. Idk, sadly being a lady and fearing being stalked is more common, meaning you pick up on more of the little details and in this game the whole lingering fear of possibly being watched plays a huge part in the overall feeling.

I feel like Chilla's games seem to be made more towards the female audience somehow, but yeah, I think being a woman definitely makes it more relatable. I've been pestered by girls before but to make a horror game out of it would require a completely different atmosphere than this game has. Very interesting that being a man or a woman makes your experience with some games different

@@ZombieOfMist I mean, I also have to do that as man, walking alone at night is dangerous to anyone, unfortunately since women are naturally easier targets, they gotta be more careful. It's ver sad that they gotta be so precautious but I guess the night is dangerous even for animals. My only gripe with this topic is when people are having a civil discussion and some angry woman comes along stating that your worries as a man are invalid cuz ooooh she has it sooo much worse, and then comes her little bandwagon to jump on you for daring to speak up about your issues. The comment section under that hotel horror game video was atrocious in some places...

I commented something similar on Sean's video but the notes in this brought back memories of a stalker I had in high school. We kept a file on him because of the same thing... He wasn't actually doing anything legally dangerous. He actually reached out to me a few years back to try and become friends. I blocked him. These are the scariest games because of how real they are.

I had a stalker. I foolishly ignored the red flags, befriended the person, then dated after several years. He did a lot to get to each of those steps, and he did awful and unspeakable things to me. It's scary how some people can manipulate and hide so well that everyone in the end, ends up fooled. I only recently started talking about and coming forward with my story and outing that person for what they are. Sadly, many people don't believe me and think I'm making it all up. Even though I gained nothing and it took me 10 years to get to this point. I've been single and isolated for over 6 years. People don't just disappear to fabricate a lie like that, primarily because if it was for "attention" or because "she's bitter" (so revenge), it would have made more sense to come forward right after the breakup if that was the case, which it's not. I gained nothing besides feeling free, telling my story and what was done to me. I hate that so many women, some men, disabled, lgbtqia+, and the bipoc community go through such traumatizing things. And then, so many people fight to keep society this way. It's soul-crushing, and it's terrifying out there. 😔

For someone who also had experience as coffee shop barista this game is so fun for me but uncomfortable sometimes cuz I had bad experiences through out a year with that job, and being harrassed (verbally) by customer is somehow tolerable and some of this like the customer asking for your number and your real name I could just smile my way out or ignore em but having a creepy workmate is something I can't take to the point I purposely requested to get a shift alternate to him but when our manager transfered to another branch ofcourse that guy bacame my shiftmate again and from that moment he never tried to hide his intention at all (sometimes he casually touching my shoulders) so after a few weeks I resigned cuz I tried to report him with our new manager but it seems the manager didn't care at all. So this game is so scary for me.

I worked as a cocktail server. I had this one guy who would only come in on my shifts. He would follow me around like a puppy. I had told him multiple times to leave me alone. He was so creepy. He would literally wait outside the doors to go into the back for me too come out. The back was where the storage room, women's bathroom, kitchen and staff room were to explain. I think he even tried following me home one night. We were trained to drive around if we notice someone following us and if they stay behind us to go to the police station or go back to the work and call them letting them know what was going on. I was closer to the bar than the police station so I went back to work. One of my male coworkers met me outside and walked me back in and later followed me home to make sure I was safe. Later on we made a deal that he would pretend to be my boyfriend at work so the guy would leave me alone. I am now paranoid while driving when someone has been following me for to long.

I can’t imagine having a stalker in real life, it must be terrifying…. story time: A month or two ago, I went to one of my classes early. One of my classmates (who I don’t know very well) came in a bit after me. My teacher got up, walked over to her, and said something like “if you need to leave class at any point because of the stress please feel free to.” she shyly said thank you & my teacher started walking back towards his desk, right by my seat. He turned back towards my classmate and asked “you told the police right? Stalking can be very serious.” She nodded and then looked embarrassed because there was no way I didn’t overhear that. I feel so incredibly bad for her. She’s either a Sophomore or Junior in high school ((grade 10 or grade 11)). I hope everyone out there is able to talk to the authorities and get as much protection as possible. Make sure you don’t share too much on social media because you never know who sees it. Stalking is so creepy & I’m really sorry that some of you have had experiences with it

SSR = Screen Space Reflections Basically, reflections calculated based on what's currently in the "screen space". You know those reflections that gradually disappear when you try to look directly at them? Or those that can't seem to reach the sides of the screen? Those are SSR. These kinds of horrible situations just stuck with you for a long time or forever. Being stalked and the stalker actually knows where you live. It happened to me when I was 15. My cousin and I were being stalked by an older guy. My cousin and I used to go for a night walk near our house. Then he started following us, smiling at us. I remember his creepy face, and it disgusts me. As the day's went by he kept coming closer and closer. The cousin and I still went for night walks, but having some sort of defence stuff with us. One night I remember it so clearly like it was yesterday. He bought his bike and was following us through the roads and dirt paths. My cousin and I ran in fields and even hid but he eventually found us. We ran to the road, near street lights to look for help. That's when that guy said he wanted to be our friend and actually started begging us to be his friend. As he was begging he bend down and held my ankle and my thigh. We pushed him and ran towards a nearby building with a security guard. The creepy guy ran away, but as we followed the security guard, we saw from a distance that some guy's were in his small house, shirtless, drinking. That's when we realised how unsafe we were from everyone. Cousin and I were 15-16 at the time. We don't about that incident but it differently gives us chills to our core. We were stupid and naive at the time. But if we think about it, then the world is too big and you aren't safe anywhere. We did came back home safe and then to our horror we saw the guy right next door casually walking towards us. It was enough for my cousin and I, we were scared and we told our brother's that we were being followed for a week by a guy. Our brother's in rage went out to look for him and a neighborhood lady came out of her home and told us about the creepy guy. That he was a married man and has kid's, he comes to this neighbour at night drunk and that he isn't a good person. Our brother's sent us home and actually talked with that creepy guy, warned him or whatever happened between them. Thankfully the guy was gone from our lives. I was just a little kid then. I'm 24 now, but it scares me so much thinking that I'm still a little girl in this big world.

I was having a bad panic attack, I felt my heart beating without a rhythm and it felt very uncomfortable. Almost like my heart was digesting food instead of pumping blood. I took some pills and I just wasn’t okay, felt like my head was melting like chocolate and my forehead skin was tingling. I was just trying not to cry, I felt really lonely and desperate for someone to help me out. Not that I’m *forever alone* or something but its like even in a group of people I feel pretty lonely and I understand that the people I know will not be able to help me and it may make them feel bad/awkward. I decided to watch this video to get my mind off all the terrible things thats been going on for over a year in my life now. I have a short spring break and I’m just wasting my time on xan** and sleeping away my days to not think or feel. I’m recovering from a sui**de attempt. I was worried I couldn’t sleep without some more pills. Watching this video made me laugh (where the mom w the naked baby gasped and was pissed) and also it really calmed me down and helped me fall asleep (I’m aware that a lot of people are fall asleep to Gabs sleep-hypno-voice) I’m glad I’m a bit… normal now? I know this wont last long but I remember I last felt this around some holiday when I used to go to middle school. I wanted to leave some information about what people can do if they are being followed or stalked because maybe it'll be helpful to someone. First, all reports or claims of being followed or stalked should absolutely be taken seriously by everyone, including the authorities (i.e. your boss, the police, etc). If this is not the case, and the people listening to the claim/report fail to open an investigation or to at least provide protections and support, then that is the fault of those people and a broken system, not the victim. A combination of many factors (i.e. culture, country, regional area, etc.) determine how people and the authorities handle a claim/report of following or stalking as well as how they punish such crimes. For example, in the USA the penalties for following or stalking vary from state to state for one thing. In general, it's a good idea for people to familiarize themselves with their local laws and reporting procedures. For instance, in California, where I live, if a person thinks someone is following them, they can call the police right away, the first time it happens. They do not have to wait for that person to commit a crime. Stalking is defined as “willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly” following or “willfully and maliciously” harassing someone and by making a credible threat to harm that person. If the same person, on more than one occasion, follows you or harasses you and you feel threatened and unsafe, you can report that person. Stalking is Class A misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $1,000, and/or imprisonment in a county jail for up to a year (Stop Street Harassment, Know Your Rights: Street Harassment and the Law, p. 4).
