Great footage. It brings back a lot of memories. I completed the walk back in 2010 over 17 days in blazing sunshine. Camped every night. [I had a couple of days off to rest my aching feet]. I'd love to have another crack at it.

Great video! Very well put together. Love the background music. Watching this just brings back memories having done it twice: landscapes, panoramas, changing weather, etc. Great job. I'm just doing up a non-fiction memoir about my time on it. I feel I don't know how to get anyone, if they'd wan to, to read it.

Very good guys, I'm planning some really long walks myself, I would really like to walk the whole coastline of the UK (barring Northern Ireland as it isn't connected with the land) at some point. Seems like a real adventure.

You’d better start now, that’s somewhere between 7,000 and 11,000 miles, (the true distance is unknowable as it depends upon how it’s measured), just for the mainland and around 19,500 if you include the islands.

the map is from google earth. I added a GPS route I downloaded from the internet . Then put on the way points with the walkers graphic from google earth. Does than make sense?

David, I have watched your C2C walk video a couple times. It looks wonderful. I have a question: how did you get the 3-D map to show the daily route across the landscape from one location to the next? Lois

Hello David. Could I please ask you if you stayed in B&Bs through out your walk and how much funds one would need to complete the walk, do walkers ever get caught out and have to camp, or is there plenty camp sites along the way ?
@an9636
@an9636 6 жыл бұрын
Looking at this myself the whole route is geared to this c2c walk. The pubs on route allow you to camp in their gardens, some will even pick you up and drop u off. If u average £60/£70 a night for b&bs u won't go far wrong. No need for cooking stove and lots of food as u can eat along the way to save on pack weight. But book 6 months in advance for b&bs as they get booked up quick and the towns r very small with plenty of walkers passing through. I've weighed up the options and going down the b&b route so to carry a far lighter pack.

Nice,☺do you need a permit?
@an9636
@an9636 6 жыл бұрын
pelle lindbergh with that question I'm going to guess your from across the pond. We don't have any kind of permit system. The only thing you can't do is camp wherever you like. It's tolerated in the Lake District in the mountains but the whole route has campsites and pubs you can camp in the pub gardens. And plenty of places to stop for food etc so no need for a heavy pack with cooking equipment.
