Tuff Lite. Love this knife. Probably got a half dozen or so in drawers and tool boxes and just lying around. Never want to not have one on hand. So much knife for the size and super afordable.

Cold steel tuff lite hands down. Better steel. Better quality. Better lock. Better handles/colors. Easier to sharpen. Better pocket clip. Just an overall better bang for your buck knife!!!!

I know before long ago that Cold Steel was popular with shopping mall Tacticool stuff, but they’ve come a long way since those days. I had a mini tuff lite when they first released…awesome knife! Accidentally lost it and couldn’t buy another because CS discontinued it. Took me forever to find a new in box on eBay. Many years later, I was surprised to find that CS rereleased the MTL. Of course I bought one! Recently, picked up the full size Tuff Lite and what a fantastic knife for the price. The triad lock truly is spectacular. Strong as hell and self adjusting as the lock pin wears with use.

Tuff light all day..First day, had to cut a notch in a 2x4. Hit it with my hammer and it cut like butter. Not even a scratch. Best work knife I own.

My Pilar broke. I accidentally dropped it on my kitchen floor. So I went into my stash & pulled out my Cold Steel Voyager. Dropped it on the kitchen floor twice on purpose. Cold Steel 1 CRKT 0

Now that is useful information. Well depending on your height, I mean are you 6' or over? How far was the fall, just curious? I guess you have Spanish tile floors or stone, we have the tile here and it's merciless.

A lot of people dislike Cold Steel, because someone they subconsciously and arbitrarily look up to said they don't like Cold Steel. But when you're getting models like this, it just doesn't make any sense.

I have a Tuff Lite. I made it a custom knife by installing a thumb stud in the slot. I now can open the blade with one hand, but not very smoothly. The more I practice the better I get.

My opening method is to pinch the oval hole between thumb and forefinger, flip the handle down, then just wrap hand around grip.

By using a pinch grip on the cutout in the blade while still in the pocket, and then a wrist flick places the handle in you're palm. This works if using pocket clip or carrying loose in the pocket.

“A Chain is As Strong As The Weakest Link”. You can have an Elmax Folder or an m390 folder, but the only thing that matter is the Weak part of the Folder = THE LOCK. So.....this one is easy = COLD STEEL Any Day 😎👍🏻

i use the tuff lite way more, but it stays at work. i like using the pilar more as an edc, i find the blade use more satisfying.

Don’t have a Pilar. Have a Tuff Lite. My wife has been using it for wood carving. The blade is easy to sharpen and takes a keen edge with little effort. The lock holds the blade tight with no play. It simply works.

I like the tuff lite better. I prefer the wharncliffe blade style, and I think it looks better overall. Wish the blade was just a smidge longer though.

Comparing standard versions, I have to admit that the tuff lite probably has an edge. I’m a huge fan of Vox designs and the Pilar aesthetic, though. I have a sprint run of the Pilar in G10 and D2. Its a lot lighter and the steel is greatly improved. Only cost me about $10 more than the standard version. It’s my favorite small knife. If we count the sprint run, then the Pilar blows the competition out of the water.

CRKT PILAR is the one for me. As a matter of fact, I'm actually gonna get one. Not a fan of the hallow grind all the time. I see this as more of a tool, that doesn't necessarily need a razor edge. Strong is my thinking useing flat grind blade which will still lend to a good edge, with a more stout blade.💪
