I’m at a D3 school as a freshman and want to transfer to a d2 or d1 school how would that work.

Go through your college and ask, you need to figure out what credits will transfer and how it will affect sports if you are currently involved in any

so if ive never played football in college but want to walk on and im a sophmore i really only have two years to play? Or since i havent played yet my clock hasnt started?

Nick, it really comes down to when you enrolled as a full-time student (12-credit hours). The eligibility does not “save” or “rollover” to future seasons just because you did not play your first two years in college. If you have been a full-time student, then you would be left with two years of eligibility. Thanks for the question and please let us know if you have any others!

If i go to a community college does that also start the 5 year clock

You'd wanna check with NCAA rules but I know for sure if it's a 4-year school and you enroll in 12+ credit hours it almost always starts the clock.

So do you recommend someone going to juco and then transferring or only if u have offers?

No I'm a proponent of walking on at the school you actually want to play for (if you don't have an offer there) I don't know a ton about the juco route
