---> Corrections of mistakes I made during this talk, for absolute correctness and transparancy. ⚠ 1⃣ 15:20 ~ Henry Ford is not officially credited with inventing the Conveyor belt. T he correct statement would have been that Henry Ford played an important role in the development and adoption of this technology. Henry Ford just happens to be the most famous and remembered person who played a role in the development of the conveyor belt.* ⚠ 1⃣ 19:41 ~ Moore's law was actually first introduced in 1965, and it was revisited (and slightly changed) in the '90ties. Originally it mentioned only the doubling of transistors per Chip Die, in the 90'ties it was updated to refer to compute itself. ⚠ 2⃣ 21:13 ~ IBM developed Deep Blue, not Google. I mispoke and didn't catch it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Blue_(chess_computer) ⚠3⃣ 23:45 ~ The Go move in question was Move 37 (not 32, as stated) and it was the 4th game he won, not the 3rd, he lost again in the 5th. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AlphaGo_versus_Lee_Sedol#game_2022 ⚠ 4⃣ 49:02 'There I Ruined It' did not ask AI to sing 'Barbie girl' in the style of Johny Cash. he recorded his own voice and used AI to change his vocal timbre into that of Johny Cash, as he shows in: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6fLZXiohJKca9Esi=w32DfXQZKcf4f7_j&t=95. I took some creative liberty there, as this is the most funny example of Ai use for music I could find to provide the audience with a laugh. *Luckily this factual error had no bearing on my core message. In my mind, it serves as a stark reminder that 100 years ago, patents and IP did not hold the same stranglehold over collaboration and innovation as it does today.kzbin.infogaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u26a0.pngkzbin.infogaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u26a0.png

What a presentation! Super interesting stuff, thank you 👍 Yes, the audience was a hard nut to crack, but believe me, it is not that those people did not listen carefully to the presenter, quite oposite. Rather it is the fact that communication in foreign language (english in this case) is not their daily bread and they are not comfortable to speak in any language other than slovak. It is the mentality and sad reality in most post soviet countries. I will take generations to erase the bad influence of Soviet Union practicing their KGB brainwashing tactics on slovak people… for 40 years they have been told that their opinion is worth nothing so it is rooted in their minds that they will rather keep ther mouth shut than being rediculed by the crowd or even worse, silenced by the “authority”. This appears to be an excerpt from a conversation or interview between the speaker (Aragorn) and another person at a conference in Slovakia. Here's a brief summary: The speaker is asked if he's "really really good" at something, but it's unclear what that is. He responds with confidence, saying he'll do his best. The conversation then shifts to his experience attending the conference and traveling in Slovakia. He mentions having wine last night, meeting nice people, and enjoying the countryside. However, he also had a less-than-ideal taxi ride through heavy rain, during which he couldn't look outside because of dark windows. Despite this, he's excited to explore more of Slovakia today, mentioning seeing "wonderful mountains" and even thinking of the misty mountains from his favorite book or movie ( likely referring to J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings"). The conversation ends with a brief discussion about the speaker needing to catch a flight back to Holland soon. It seems like Aragorn is charming, witty, and enthusiastic about his experiences in Slovakia!

Hey buddy, for the pond question. It is missing one important information: "at day 30, the pond is full with littles", otherwise, you can't say that it is 29, because you don't know the correlation between the lake/pond and the number of lilies. Otherwise, it is a very nice way to explain to people the impact of exponential growth.

what if the pond is 20cm in radius? the missing info is size of a Lilly and size of the pond imo

Those of us that can see the future, should also be the ones to try and make those that cannot aware, so they might have a better chance of weathering the storm into the Golden age. So I see it as my moral perogative to inform those that do not see, even if that sometimes means they don't get it right away. That's what teachers do.

"Cleopatra was closer to the invention of chatgpt than the construction of the pyramids." That is mind blowing 🤯 The Giza pyramids were built 2,470 years before Cleopatra. Chatgpt was built 2,052 after Cleopatra.

I usually dont comment, but this was extremely good. I have been following AI since the very start of chatgpt, so a lot i already knew, but the way you say it and show it really helps. I sat the whole video never moving a muscle. Im so annoyed by the crowd, like eveyone else here says, super dead. You should come to Norway to have a presentation, i know many dying for something like this. We regularly have AI presentations at the university here, and a lot of active people show up. 100+ everytime and we do discussions after (university of Bergen). Your standpoint on AI is a little bit more «out there» than most coming to talk here, so it would be a really nice switch-up.

Great presentation, very nice examples to show things by comparison. There were some comments here about the audience, that they don't know what this is all about. Majority of people is like that. In truth, WE ALL are like that. Because we don't know what is coming. We can't predict how the world will look like in five-ten years, because this is something which didn't happen in the past, we as a species didn't experience such change yet. The future looks really really bright. What troubles me is this transition period - problems with mental health, forces clinging to power and the like.

Immersive as in VR? Not a fan atm, I can't really bring to bare my range of expresion in VR in it's current state, and in VR presentation tech is often too crappy still (Spatial just sucks) Widescreen, yes, working on it.

I think we are entering a Quantum shift at the moment, meaning EVERTHING evolves at quantum warp speed. Next step is exploring and connecting with other planetary civilizations and discovering what it really means to be human
@ItsMrMetaverseАй бұрын
This is very possible, but the physical distance in space will be a very real obstacle, despite our great advances in technology coming up. Unless we realise some kind of warp-speed travel to break the speed of light, or some kind of wormhole tech, it might take a bit still before we can leave the solar system without having to build generational ships.

Maybe there is a "Blind Spot" with this whole concept. Roger Penrose has the position that "consciousness is not computational" and I tend to agree with that assessment. The differences that I see between "Humans" and "AI" is that AI operates from a "database that is finite", and no matter how large that database is, it is still "finite". So it can COLLATE and create patterns, and find new patterns in that data, but the "data" itself is not NEW DATA. So AI is "COMPUTATIONAL", it just takes existing data and finds all of the many many ways that data "RELATES TO ITSELF", and then presents that to the "situation at hand", whether that be a a game, or communicating in language etc. But the LIMITATION will always be: "How much and what kind of DATA is available", and can the problem be solved by "extreme computation"?? So what is different about "Humans"? When Jung investigated the nature of humans he came up with the sense of "Self" issue, you could call it "Awareness", "Consciousness", "Knowingness", "Beingness", or any of a variety of names. But apparently there are TWO senses of "Self" (1) A "conscious" Self which is a "culturally conditioned" and "thought imagined" Self that he named the "Ego", and (2) An "Unconscious" Self, of which we are almost 100% unaware, because awareness of (that Self) is "drowned out" by the "Ego Self". Now Jung postulated that there is both an "individual" and a "collective" EGO Self, and an "Individual" and a "collective" Unconscious Self. It is this "Unconscious" that is the mystery, it could be thought of as a "Great Universal Database", the "Repository of all Knowledge" of past, present and future. Apparently Humans can dip into this "unconscious database" and bring "new things" into "Conscious Awareness", that were not in "Conscious Awareness" before. This (unconscious database) apparently is where all great creations come from, the music, the science, the art, and so on. And if you ask the people who created it, they will admit to that. Tesla said that all his ideas and inventions came from there, I have seen musicians admit that their songs come from there. You can call it the "Unconscious", but that name does not really properly describe it. It might be called "The Great Repository of All Knowledge" or the "Unconscious Database", or if you are religious you can call it "God". But the underlying CONCEPT is: "Nothing can exist unless there is an UNDERLYING POTENTIAL FOR IT TO EXIST." (in the great unconscious) And that was Frankl's theme when he wrote the book he named "The Unconscious God.
@ItsMrMetaverse21 күн бұрын
Lots to unpack here my friend. I'm a big fan of Frankl, but I do not believe in God, not any God. Possibly a Creator, as in... a Creator of our Simulation. (chalmers/bostrom) Regarding Blindspot or consciousness not being computational. Long story short, I believe that is a tenet of "human exceptionalism". The Human need, that permeates Philosophy and Psychology, to believe that we are indeed special. I think it's genetically encoded in us to put more appreciation on ourselves and our species than on the rest of the world. I think it's been a competitive advantage, but I also think it's our most destructive aspect, and I also believe it's a cognitive bias.
@bigpicture321 күн бұрын
@@ItsMrMetaverse It is not about being "special" as such, it would be pointless to say if there was no consciousness or awareness of it, that ANYTHING exists at all. Einstein made this (objective universe) assumption with Relativity, but the Quantum discoveries are indicating that so called "Objective Reality" does not exist at all. (That the experiencer "Self" is also the creator "Self") That the observer (consciousness) cannot be thought of something "separate" from what is observed. But the observer has a sense of "Self", that creates the illusion of separation, otherwise the sense of "Observer" and "Observed" could not exist as an "Experience" at all. So that raises the question "What is that Sense of Self???" If you want to name it, then call it "God". Because in the Bible God describes Himself as "I AM" or "I AM, THAT I AM. The great universal sense of "Self" that can be anything that it chooses. And the Human sense of "Self" is in the very same Image as THAT. But that "I AM" Self, is NOT the "conscious" Ego Self, it is the "Unconscious" Self. There are other related questions like "does everything that seems to be seperate have a sense of "Self" at some level"?? Does each Atom at some level have a sense of "Self"??? Because trying to understand what Consciousness, Awareness, Knowing, Understanding etc. is, implies that for everything to work in the way that it appears to do, then this consciousness that we name God, must be at the very center of every single thing, to some greater or lesser degree. At the human level this is at a much greater degree, we have ALL THE ATTRIBUTES of God. We can WILL things into existence, we can even manifest what are named Miracles, of which this Quantum observer effect is just a tiny one.
