71-yr-old white guy here: You've missed out, young man! I was in my late 20s when the Commodores came out with this song, & on Saturday nights I'd be slow-dancing with some fine lady when this song was playing- it made 'em melt EVERY TIME- Lionel had a voice that made panties drop all over the WORLD!! I could tell by the look on your face that you enjoy it now as much as I did back in the day!! Stay well!

When going thru my divorce in 1980/81, The commodores song "Still" made me cry a lot but it got me thru it. My ex passed away and never knew this was my song to him about our marriage. This was a great band and a great song reaction. Easy, is such a chill song.

When you said "new group, the Commodores" it was clear you had no idea what was coming. I'm sure most of us were saying "wait for it"! I was already tearing up and then, "Wait! That's Lionel Ritchie!" Like, what's he doing here? Oh man, this is one of my favorite reactions ever. Right up there with "whoever this singer is, he's really good" about Freddy Mercury. Love you JV! You make my day. Congrats on 50k subs! Don't be shocked when it's hundreds of thousands. Your honesty, innocence and vulnerability are rare qualities in today's society. That's what keeps us coming back.

It took quite a while for them to gel and as soon as they did, they drove up to Wish bone Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama where Terry Woodford And Clayton Ivy cut some HOT FUNK called Machine Gun. That blasted the doors open and the rest was history!

Found this on the Commodores: Commodores is an American funk and soul band, which was at its peak in the late 1970s through the mid 1980s. In 1977 the Commodores released "Easy," which became the group's biggest hit yet, reaching No. 4 in the US, followed by "Brick House," also top 5, both from their album The Commodores. The group reached No. 1 in 1978 with "Three Times a Lady." In 1979 the Commodores scored another top-five ballad, "Sail On," before reaching the top of the charts once again with another ballad, "Still." In 1982, Lionel Richie left to pursue a solo career Thanks for your reaction, Jay..... Take care and be well. Peace.

Its so fun to see someone discover AND appreciate, too, my favorite bands and voices I've loved and grew up on my entire life. I've taken that for granted until now.... .... so it comes to this. I have a fun suggestion and it involves another NEW ARTIST who also has a "once in a lifetime voice"!!!!! I want to know which "Sherry" song is your favorite from these 3 artists Steve Perry-Oh Sherrie 1984 Stevie Wonder-My Cherie Amore 1969 And my I introduce you to, Frankie Vali and the four seasons-Sherry 1962 Thanks hope you enjoy!!!!

This is one of my all time favorite songs! I was able to see Lionel in concert in June 2019. When I heard the first notes of Easy, I teared up. Incredible experience. By the way, my favorite Commodores album is Natural High. Give it a listen!
