You'll find it hard to find music you want if you stick to mainstream charts and trends. A tip for you is to search up for "genres". Will be one of the best things you'll do for yourself. If you want to find music like this look up "Sophisti-Pop", and you'll find both old and modern indie artists who make this kind of music.

I've been around long enough to have been around when the Jackson 5 and Gloria Gaynor released their version of this song (both of which are fantastic) so I am quite familiar with this song. I just recently stumbled across this version by the Communards and I was WOWED!! It may be the best version yet!. Absolutely love it. It got my 75 year old bones up and dancing.

Golly this takes me back. I was 17 and loved the way Jimmy could dance so naturally and wanted to be able to move like he could on the dance floor. He did such amazing work promoting equality for gay men in the 89s at a time when there was still major hostility from just about every section of society. I remember it challenged me as a straight man to reconsider my own prejudice coming from a very white straight coal mining community and I have to thank him for that. I still remember having a massive crush on one of the girl dancers in the video back then (dark haired girl in tartan skirt on right of line) so if by any chance you ever read this you set my heart a flutter!

2023 this song still has me dancing around the house I'm nearly 60 but the 80s music was great and the energy Jimmy Somerville has is brilliant and love when the song is coming near the end and they're all on the dancefloor doing the dance routine we done that and we would be joined by other people in the night club great memories

I'm nearly 60yrs old and in 2023 still dancing to this cracking song and my son is 40yrs old and he hits the dancefloor as well Jimmy Somervillehas a great voice and boy he can dance as well and the energy from all of them is off the scales
