What I love about Charizard Chills is that it finally gives Charizard the time to truly listen to Ash. I love how Ash aknowledges that no he isn't the best trainer. He's impulsive, arrogant, and sometimes denser than a black hole. The point is that he tries hard to become better everyday for the sake of him and especially his Pokemon. I think Charizard knew this deep down but was too caught up in his past to really understand it till he was shown Ash caring for him throughout the night despite everything he's put Ash through. Ash is an idiot, but he's an idiot that cares and after what that dingbat Damien did to him, that's all Charizard could ask for.

It's kinda sad that for a while, Charmeleon/izard became just like Damian, a self-centered jerk who would only give the time of day to those he seemed strong enough to be worth the time. He was doing to Ash what Damian did to him, but Ash wasn't gonna let history repeat itself. Ash was strong enough to help Charizard get over himself, remember what a true friendship is, and finally put Damian's influence behind him once and for all. I don't know if it was the intention, but Charizard's arc really does a good job of depicting a breaking a cycle of abuse and growing past one's abuser.

Its because Ash over levelled him and didn't have enough gym badges so pokemon over a certain level may disregard your instructions. Ah, Charizard... The Classic Powerhouse. Besides Sceptile, the powerhouse I grew up and absolutely adored growing up and watching every weekend. Speaking of Sceptile, one nitpick with Charizard is when Charizard returned towards the end of Battle Frontier... He should have met Sceptile then, as in a meeting of the Old Powerhouse meets the New Kid on the Block. That would have been interesting, instead of no real interaction upon Charizard's stay at Oak's after Unova... Not to mention meeting a third Dragonite. That episode, while still good... Could have been saved back for Battle Frontier... Since his Hoenn Guys didn't meet him at the time. Still, Charizard's story and character, despite a few flaws, is one of the best of all-time, and a reason he is one of my all-time favorites. Bring this guy back in a full episode, writers! I’ve been waiting for this video, where to start. Charizard is one of ashes most complex Pokémon that he’s ever owned. I had many theories on why he changed so much when he evolved and I don’t think it has anything to do with Ash’s badge amount, simply he was owned by another trainer he got very strong Ash obtained him after he was getting abused by Damian and while he was very loyal to Ash he subconsciously held everything in (like the anger for his former trainer) and when he evolved into Charmeleon it was all released and then when he further evolved into Charizard he couldn’t control his power. It was something that most people couldn’t understand when they were younger watching this. I was probably 10 years old when I saw the episode where he involved and he would’ve been beneficial and so many matches though he was good on Cinnabar island. He screwed up the indigo league for Ash but eventually he found loyalty for Ash and while Ash had to release him to that Valley he eventually returned and became a very good performer for Ash. The video was very enjoyable and took a nice trip down memory lane.

@@ProfessorAlexSilver I mean a lot of people can say that because Charmander fought all those exeggutor he gained a bunch of levels they could say ash didn’t get his badges legitimately. But I think they’re trying to relate the anime to the games too much. And there are differences. I ultimately think in this case because he was owned by another trainer and because he got so much stronger so quickly that had a lot to do with it. None of his other Pokémon evolved that quickly except for Caterpie but that’s a whole different type of Pokémon altogether. But yeah very enjoyable video.

This is my og. Charizard is a legend. When I watched him as a Charmeleon get evolve into Charizard as ash and excited thinking it was to protect him but it was cause he was annoyed he couldn't fight Aerodactyl in the air made me laugh but then to see him stand with ash against mewtwo in the movie. Man, amazing. As a kid I loved this so much 😂

That episode of the original season made me incredibly sad. So many great themes in this story arch; it really makes you think about being a better pet owner. I loved how Brock was super upset. He really was there for them and made sure everyone was fed. Charizard is one of the best of Ash's and he has proven it over and over. He honestly should have beaten the blazaken in johto. I also loved how they included the idea that traded pokemon would gain additional experience and would therefore level up quickly to a level that would begin to disobey the trainer.

I honestly thought that the Pokémon that Ash would use Mega Evolution with would be Charizard
@guardian67883 жыл бұрын
It's not like we'll never get to see it happen. Ash has access to Mega Evolution now, and if the writers allow it, Ash might go back to his old Pokemon and test their skills with Mega Evolution. Not only Charizard, but Sceptile, Heracross, and Glalie can get some well deserved time in the spotlight too! And that's not even mentioning if Gible fully evolves! I really hope that direction is taken, because I know that a lot of people would love it!!!

@@guardian6788 I feel like if they did decide to give Ash any other Pokemon to be able to mega evolve, Charizard is probably the highest up on that list due to it's popularity and iconic status. The real question for me is which mega evolution will they choose: will they go with X for the cool design and dragon typing, or will they instead go with Y to give that form more screen time, seeing as X was already heavily featured in the anime under the ownership of Alain

It's been great to watch your channel grow and you better believe I'm gonna watch every video you put out, they have only been increasing I'm quality. The only suggestion I have is maybe showing the different win rate percentages for each evolutionary stage and then a final percentage for all of them. It might give a better idea as to how they performed as they grew. Other than that I honestly cannot think of what else can be done to improve your videos, amazing job Professor.

I remember that Charizard vs Blaziken battle as the most epic Pokemon battle of my childhood. It was the longest and most even I'd seen, plus because Blaziken was an unknown Pokemon back then, it had this aspect of mystery and made me want to see Ash win it all the more, in a sort of "home team vs away team" kind of way. I really thought the plot armor would prevail, and was surprised when at the last moment Ash's Charizard couldn't stand anymore. Blaziken seemed like such a cool Pokemon and powerful Pokemon, especially after beating Ash's Charizard, that it stayed in mind and I even used it as inspiration for en email address years later. This video was certainly a trip down memory lane for me, thanks a lot Professor Silver 😄

Ash getting Charmander was one of the best things that ever happened in the Anime. Credits must be given to Brock that he was willing to give Charmander which he give so much care for to Ash. And its surely did Pay off for Ash. For All the Battles it won and all the Great moments and Memories. If it would have gone with Brock it would have still been under good care but it would surely change things. (Which in this scenario also could apply to the next episode if the writers would decide to give Misty Squirtle since Ash would have Bulbasaur and Brock Charmander)
