50:56 - Fun fact: Mega Man 11 has a promotional manga that clarifies that Mega Man fought Fuse Man first and emphasizes that the Robot Masters and even the mini-boss Mechanoloids are among the fastest, strongest, and tankiest foes he’s ever had to fight period. Which, huge disrespect on Bass, King, and the Stardroids. Anyways, Rock won in the end with a Double Gear Charged Shot after spending most of the Fuse Man fight getting smoked.

Fun fact: King from the manga is actually a scrapped Dr Wily project. Basically after being forgotten by Wily, King finished the construction himself and in the process, learned that humanity is weak and robots do all the work so he started the uprising

Some things i caught while watching: 1) In Powered Up, Oil Man and Time Man have the serial numbers DLN-00A and DLN-00B to not clash with the first two Wily numbers. 2) The Mega Man World series is mentioned in 11 (can't remember where exactly but it's in one of the bios), directly confirming this series as canon. 3) Wily Wars goes directly after Mega Man World 2 as it's Wily's second attempt of using the Time Skimmer (now modified to go to the past). 4) Doc Robot, while not as important to the series, takes a part in the plot Mega Man 3 but was still not mentioned in the video. 5) Beat and Auto don't get a mention either, Beat was a present from Dr. Cossack to Mega Man and debuts in Mega Man 5 while Auto serves as Dr. Light's assistant and runs a shop of his own in Mega Man 7 and Mega Man & Bass. 6) Bass has his own campaign in Mega Man 10. Just a couple things that might help in a future video or just for some extra info, please correct me if i'm wrong in any of these.

"A robot can not let a human or humanity come to harm through inaction" is my go-to headcanon as to why of all robots, Rock decided to go incognito to defeat robots, and is the reason why he just bails after Wily's last war machines are destroyed. Not because Wily begged for spare, not because he wants to be a hero, but because.. at that specific point, menace or not for Wily, the world is just not in danger anymore. The reason Megaman promises to return, is he KNOWS he didn't stop Wily from trying again, and will be ready when he does. And that's what fascinates me with Rock's AI, he didn't try to be a hero, he literally did a 'whoops lemme get this quick before someone's hurt' and everyone thought he was a legendary hero of sorts. Bro just did what he knew he could do. I never saw anywhere in any games explain that Rock wanted to become a hero at any point, they just referred to this as 'a strong sense of justice', which he was not programmed with. Note that I only go by the games, including X so I have a foothold for the laws of robotics. So I have no idea how forced into the canon the comics and mangas are.

It was nice that capcom made it where you can play any generation of megaman without needing to play the other(meaning you could play the first titles Megaman x, Zero, ZX, and legends eithout needing to play the original megaman). I've been working on going through all of the classic games via the legacy collections. I had played 1-6 a ton back on the NES but I'd really never touched 7-10 before, but got 11 at release. Oh so a couple of things, Rockman Rockman is canon since it was built as a retcon for the classic games Rock is still called Rock Localizers aren't the brightest, Timeman is DRN.00A and Oilman is DRN.00B, Rockman World 2 directly caused the X timeline, I did not know that the Rockman fighting games are in alternate timeline but the reason they are is because Capcom doesn't want the Rockman Classic to definitely end this also applies to Rockman X it's the reason why the ZERO/ZX series only happens after ZERO's ending in X6 while X7, X8, and DASH(maybe Command Mission too but unlikely) happen after the X and ZERO ending, your voice is perfect for Forte and I personally believe that Rockman Forte 2 and Rockboard are happening at the same time because it's funny to imagine while Dr. Right, Wily and co are getting along and playing monopoly Rockman and Forte are assisting in the suicide of who is basically there brother. Edit: also X5's endings and X6's X only ending? Disregard them they are not canon X5's endings were retconned out of canon and X6's X only ending was the bad ending to give the player an incentive to unlock ZERO.

Some details you forgot: Canonically Shadow Man was created by an ancient alien civilization, Willy just found him and reprogrammed him, this is important since it connects him with other Robot Masters, at the beginning of Mega Man 5 Mega Man was talking to Kalinka in Kossack's living room, since Kossack was building a gift for Mega Man in compensation for the misunderstandings of the previous game, this gift is Beat, it's also implied that Mega Man and Kalinka get along which seems to be important because in some promotional art it's implied that Kalinka likes him (idk, ask Capcom not me), ignoring those little details I think the video is pretty good in general.

9:26 I think Dr. Light considers it best to give robots independent thought instead of denying them the ability, because one way or another they will develop it, so it is best for them not to get the idea that humans want to dominate machines that are capable of thought in its basic form. Look at the replicants from the movies Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049, they weren't meant to have independent thought but still they gained it on their terms anyway. In other words, there's no guarantee that giving machines independent thought is a dangerous idea.

just opened the book up, the robot master field guide confirms that they remain DWN units in spite of being made by cossack. it also does not state that ring man and skull man were combined efforts - rather, it confirms that they were built specifically for combat against mega man, rather than being re-purposed older units. at best, it vaguely suggests that wily specifically suggested the concept for skull man ("When Dr. Wily framed Dr. Cossack, he had the Russian scientist design Skull Man to be the ideal warrior, with evenly balanced defense, offense, and speed."). wily is only mentioned in passing for ring man. the idea that the mm4 cast are "DCN" comes from the archie comics, which is not canon (i'd also note in general that the field guide is worth being a bit cautious about in general, as it follows the localisation and its weird missteps [eg; considering break man a "guise" for proto man rather than a powerup] and thus will conflict with canon every now and then)

Since you asked for it, here's a couple lore clarifications: - Powered Up is canon. It's a retcon of Mega Man 1. Rock being called "Mega" is just some localizer screw-up. - Super Adventure Rockman isn't canon. It was disowned by Inafune and de-canonized. He felt it was too dark to fit in with classic Mega Man. - Mega Man DIDN'T win the Battle & Chase competition. Napalm Man did. His ending is referenced in the Robot Master field guide, and MM&B CDs as having canonically taken place.

Yo, Mega Man is my jam growing up, & sufficed to say, this lore video was hella informative & pretty interesting. Although, if you were to ask me, I’d put some games in different spots. Like Wily Wars for me would take place after World 2, since Mega Man doesn’t charge his buster yet & it would make sense to continue the time travel gimmick. & I’d put Super Adventure Rockman after Megaman 5 & before World 4 & 5 to keep World 4 & 5 connected. Otherwise, the lore list tracks. Super solid lore video & it’s a well informed video overall! The fact that it’s 50 or more minutes is pretty impressive. 36:58 Here a funny thing about Bass. Before the events of Megaman 7, probably during the events of Megaman 6, Wily was developing a new type of alloy in his next line of robot masters. Somewhere along the way, Wily accidentally creates Bassnium, the new element that he was looking for. So with this new material, he created Bass and Treble. The reason why I don't consider the Game Boy Mega Man games canon is because of this part in Mega Man 9, 48:31. On that part, when Wily apologizes to Mega Man for the 10th time, Mega Man calls Rush in and shows Wily videos of all the times he has beaten Wily, from Mega Man 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 to & Bass. None of the moments Mega Man defeated Wily in the Game Boy games were referenced.

35:36 - DAMMIT It’s worth noting that Inafune also declared Super Adventure Rockman non-canon while he was still with Capcom, and the game’s own events support this. Long story short, at the end of Disc 1 of 3, Mega Man got into a fight with Shadow Man. Who pissed Rock off so much that he was destroyed with no remains to speak of, which huge since Mega usually makes a point to leave remains behind to avoid destroying the IC Chip, which is basically a Robot Master’s brain and soul. It’s even a later plot point that that Mega Man rekt Shadow Man so bad that Ra Moon couldn’t make a new body for him. This later contradicted by Mega Man: The Power Fighters arcade game where Shadow Man resurfaces not only alive and well but with his personality in tact. And since the alien supercomputer that can make tech from thin air couldn’t pull off this miracle, what chance does Wily?

First, I would like to say you did a great job on this video. You were very informative and descriptive. I wanted to point this out because that is helpful for me as a listener of your videos who is not able to see the videos directly. Also help other blind and low vision viewers or listeners of your channel. So I wanted to complement that first and foremost. No, as for my favorite game in the classic MegaMan series, I would have to say my favorite would be a tossup between mega man three, four, five, six, and seven. Each other, their own unique thing and I really like those soundtracks. I especially like listening to the remixes on here. I’m definitely going to share your video And spread the word. Keep up the great work. I look forward to the mega X video. I know you will totally crush it and do a great job. I would like to make one suggestion. That being you don’t mind if you would be able to describe the bosses and terms of what they look like to give listeners a idea in their mind of what these antagonist robot masters look like that would be awesome. One thing I wish Capcom would do is make a mega man game in the classic series and the X series that is completely playable by blind gamer. I know it can be done. Yeah, I clocked out after 10. I should have done so after 9, but 10 was short and inoffensive. Then 11 came around with its weird "Wily had technology that could overclock robots and make them massively fast/powerful before the events of Mega Man 1" Now, I know nobody comes to Mega Man for the plot, but doesn't that strike you as a little bit lore-breaking? You don't think Wily would have remembered something like that before that much time had passed? And, like, Gutsman with the Power Gear, Quick Man with the Speed Gear, there's so many points where it would have just meant a win for Wily. I guess they'd rather not focus on the storyline they'll eventually HAVE to get to where Zero is activated and annihilates everyone...
