12:29 Well, that's not entirely true. Yes, there were a lot of things that KD had no control over, but the things that he DID have control over (Steve Nash's hiring, DeAndre Jordan's signing, showing poor leadersip when things went awry, throwing his teammates under the bus in an interview, his crappy performance against the Celtics) WERE his fault.
@brendanbloom33664 ай бұрын
Lies on top of lies. He never showed poor leadership or threw anyone under the bus. He wanted lue. Nash was hired by marks cuz they are friends and former teammates. The Celtics was a result of their entire team selling out to stopping him and the nets having 46 different starting lineups and 10 games together post harden trade and being completely undersized. Learn ball. That team lost 11 in a row and 17 of 20 games when kd was out. They would’ve been a lottery team without kd. You can’t even name a team to make the playoffs with over 40 different lineups and not many players are even getting shots off vs the coverage he was seeing.

@@brendanbloom3366You only argued against those 2 parts of my comment. Your point about the Celtics series? Fair enough. However, his friendship with DeAndre Jordan did lead to Jordan's signing even though they did not need him because Jarrett Allen had already broken out. Why would he want Ty Lue hired before giving Kenny Atkinson a chance? Is wanting the coach replaced before giving them a chance to show how they can help you win not showing poor leadership? Also, Durant did an interview where he made comments that, at least, could be construed as throwing his teammates under the bus by some.
@urbaindelva78692 ай бұрын

@@urbaindelva7869 having Jordan there was no problem. Kd took less money so they could sign them. That doesn’t mean they have to sign them. Kd is not the GM and Kd wasn’t the one who decides who started between Allen and Jordan. Jordan was a solid backup and mentor for Allen. Where is your evidence of Kd not giving Atkinson a chance? Nash was hired cuz he’s a former teammate and a friend of Sean marks. You are going with conspiracy theories about stufff that is the front offices business and trying to use that as some measurement of kds leadership.

I know its popular for social media to crap on Durant. But it has been a pleasure watching him ball out his whole career. I really do think the media, though valid to a degree, really did a number on how we view him. He does deserve some criticism, as do most athletes, but the guy is a pure baller who really loves the game. I always have found it odd that MANY, and in recent NBA history, MOST superstars have grouped up with other superstars or stars to chase championships. I do think him wanting to leave Westbrook after all those seasons were reasonable. Though I can see why people were annoyed he joined GSW, I still don't believe he deserves the hate or disrespect he has gotten. I think history will be a bit more kind, and he will get the props he more than deserves.

The C’s grabbed two other superstars to win 1. The Heat got two other stars to get 2. The Warriors didn’t need Durant like the other two teams did. They made the right move as an organization. The same can’t be said for Durant, any case he had to be truly considered one as one of the best was destroyed that night. Cavs V Warriors was about to be a LEGENDARY rivalry, then KD joined and got 2 easy rings (barring that 2018 Houston series). I don't know if that works since: 1. The Lakers weren't a dynasty in the 90s for at least six specific reasons. 2. Even though Kobe is the lifelong Laker, Shaq was unambiguously the first option in the early 2000s. 3. It's well known that Shaq was objectively lowballed and publicly told he wasn't worth the money. Orlando screwed up more than he turned on them. The comparison only works if Shaq decided he was going to go to the 72 win Bulls.

KD is in the DISCUSSION for greatest scorer of all time. That does not mean that he IS. Two different things. One of the greatest scorers of all time, for sure.
@ClareAmel4 ай бұрын
@@urbaindelva7869It shouldn’t even be a “discussion” at all. The evidence is so overwhelming that it’s MJ that anyone who says it isn’t him is quite frankly objectively incorrect by virtually every metric.

Yup, the Warriors definitely would have won the 2019 championship if Klay had not gotten injured. Remember when KD himself in a segment with Serge Ibaka said that if Klay had not gotten injured, the series would have reached a Game 7 and the Warriors would have won without him. Heck, Klay had 30 points in game 6 of that series before he went down. Klay was on track to have another historic Game 6 Klay moment. PS. A thought came to mind. If the Warriors had won in 2019 without KD, that would have proven Draymond’s statement correct right away, and that would have made KD’s legacy even worse than it already is.

@0:28 No, there's not an asterisk on his 2 chips. Unless you're going to put an asterisk on the Warriors chip in 2015 that they won due to injuries. That 73 win team is the only team in NBA history to blow a 3-1 lead in the finals. And they were clowned about that all the way up until the playoffs in 2017 once they figured it out with KD.

Yes there is, dont be naive. Ask 100 basketball fans and poll the results if you aren't sure.

@@SplendidNinja If he gets asterisks, those same 2 asterisks should apply to the Warriors who recruited him.

Kevin Durant is the only star player in NBA history to get LESS respect from most of the NBA fan base after winning two titles in a row. He severely underestimated the unspoken rules of sports, one of them being that when you lose, a true competitor grinds and tries to come back stronger to face an opponent that beat them in competition. The most shameful thing an athlete can do after losing to a team, is try to join the team/person that beat you for an easier path to victory, because you’re not good enough to carry your own team or beat them if you had to play against them again. It’s not even about joining a better team than OKC, he could have went anywhere else in free agency, and wouldn’t have received so much hate. Yet he chose the team that beat him, because they were the best in the league, and it made for easy competition. Cupcake jokes aside, that has to be the weakest thing you could possibly do as a competitor and you can’t even expect people to give you respect for it. I bet Durant knowing what he knows now, would never go to GS that offseason, because it not only didn’t get him the respect he was looking for, it made people respect him far less.

completely disagree with comparing Durant’s relationship with the warriors to Lebron’s with the heat. Bron was the leader of that squad and the fans have immense respect for him. As soon as Kd left warrior fans echoed Drays statements about not needing him to win.
