@@HanrgyHippopotamus..it's all about priorities. I didn't start skiing until I was in high school. Had a lot of catching up to do. I had some friends that skied for the Squaw Valley Ski Team at the time, and my learning curve shot up:)..after about 3-4 years I learned independent leg action, lower and upper body separation..and that was just the beginning. If you have a passion for anything, like skiing as I do, you find a way. Skiers are gracious and humble people, I got hand me down K2's, Atomic Arcs, Rossi etc from friends and racers I knew. The it was just 204, 207, 210 or 215cm. All race skies were used in the powder. Got use to that. Had friends that would give me part time work, get on their employee list, and could ski free at a number of Sierra resorts. Skiing is an expensive sport, and if you love it as I do, you will find a way. Trust me.

Cool stuff, but why no helmet though? I wouldn't really trust a guide no matter the years of experience if he's not wearing a helmet in these conditions.
