I miss when PAP changed the weapon you used like how it is in WAW and BO1. Whether it was decoy effects, dual wield, grenade launcher or shotgun attachments, even a flame thrower attachment I believe too. It made the player want to PAP every weapon out of curiosity. Nowadays we just get extra ammo and damage while keeping the weapon the same which is still good I guess but man some PAP weapons on WAW-BO1 turned into wonder weapons themselves. The crossbow I think is the biggest example. The crossbow is a shit weapon and so the game rewards you for keeping it until you have enough for PAP. Same with the starting pistols as well

Quite a few guns in IW and WW2 became significantly different when Pack a Punched. There’s a few sniper rifles in WW2 that shot bombs and basically became the Scavenger after PaPed

When I was little, me and my brother had gotten permission from our mom to buy one dlc pack and we got so excited. We originally were trying to get the 4th dlc pack for bo1 with the WaW remasters but we accidentally purchased the dlc pack that came with call of the dead. Greatest mistake we ever made. I will say one thing I enjoyed when I was younger was the fact that the bo1 loading screens used to be 45 min entertaining videos of what each little detail was. Corners of each loading screen signifying a different map, WAS SHANGRI LA ON MARS, why is the pyramid in space, etc. Good times

I think the main problem with todays zombies is that we were always left a little unsatisfied after bo3 because we thought bo4 was supposed to be the best entry and a bo3 sequel but it just wasn’t and it wasnt received as well due to being too different from expectations. The next games simply just need to feel like old zombies thematically unlike every cod zombies title since 2018 which is feeling more like a fusion with multiplayer and warzone every passing day. Ultimately, zombies was better when it felt like it was its own separate experience outside of campaign and multiplayer(every title from bo4 and before). In those games, it literally felt like you were transported to a different game outside of call of duty which I think is the magic element thats slowly fading. If you were able to make it to where you just simply click on the zombies section in the menu and it instantly loads you into an interactive area like maybe a town the size of an outbreak map and there you can literally have it to where its like a mini server you get placed into with 60 ppl and you can do all sorts of things like go to the west part of the map for the round based map selection screen or go east to the firing range, north to the zombies museum where it displays all sorts of facts, props and assets from all cod zombies titles throughout time in a meta way like the MW2 museum. In the middle of this interactive town hub could be a fighting pit introducing a new hybrid concept for zombies where 4 players get placed in an IX like starting room where its a gladiator ring(you can do round based or 4 player free for all grief) The biggest pull from this is if you load into this game mode at the right time, you have a chance to play in front of the whole server, serving as onlookers to the arena kind of like the gulag. You can even bet on friends or other players that load into this fighting ring ultimately giving you more loot, xp, currency and gobble gum spins from monty’s factory south of the map. To tie it all together, every night at 12am, you can even do an event where the whole town hub it self turns into a mini zombies map for 30 minutes and any player who downs instantly gets booted from the server ultimately just leaving a few survivors. If you make it to the end, you get a lot of rewards. The server then resets itself for the next day. This could be the revamp that brings zombies back making it the most immersive its ever been

I agree, we thought Bo3 was building up for something big then it arrived and it sucked. Nobody asked for Chaos, even if you think Chaos is good it was completely random and left a lot of people disappointed. Especially since we got Aether too, but the quality of Aether maps were horrible. It was a slap in the face. So we flock to Bo3 to remind us of the good times. I still feel like Bo3 is getting another DLC from time to time because it feels so modern to play, then I remember it's almost 10 years old.

Ascension was great though. This map had some of the coolest innovations and returning features. PhD and Staminup were new perks. This was the first Easter egg. The theme of the map was cool. Wish it got an original wonder weapon but the Thundergun was cool. Monkeys were annoying but a new challenge of getting additional perks. You can successfully have 4 people training in their own areas of the map and be fine

Zombies went downhill when MotD released imo. From there pretty much every map has been too easy and a lot of them are tedious af. Mostly because of the actual game mechanics as opposed to individual maps, like AATs, gobblegums and windows wine made every bo3 map easy by default on top of whatever else was on the maps themselves. I just wish we could have a decently sized fleshed out classic zombies map, where the setup isn’t tedious and the game is actually challenging

Nah, Easter Eggs are great. They just have to be better like they were back in BO3/4 (for most of the map) They are completely optional and just give us more things to do. A map like Kino would get boring so quick in 2024, it worked back in 2010 though.

Bo3 was the start of the downfall to me, they dropped the formula to what made zombies special to me. They released the passion map as the launch map along with a dlc map. Unlike any other cod zombies we didn’t launch with a map with just a mystery box, a map with just a box and perks, and a map with a box, perks, and pack a punch along with a passion map and dlc map. Shadows of evil and the giant as the only 2 options was a terrible idea and to be honest I still didn’t like shadows and was confused why it was liked until I bit the bullet and bought all the bo3 dlc. I don’t know what it is but shadows only gets good after you experience the dlc maps. Chronicles was embarrassing but it’s the only way to play classic maps on ps4/5. Chronicles maps compared to dlc maps look like a detailed clay model. Removing the symbols of that one ww2 movement I can’t mention or this comment will be invisible also removed edge of the map and I think it was just lazy because in black ops 1 they were able to just change the logos on different versions and I see it as if they could do it on a harder to work on engine then why not the engine where anyone can make maps for. Just make a censorship option in the menu and turn it on by default. Also bo3 was the first zombies where every map had the same mechanics. From waw to bo2 the zombies maps always added updates and the original maps were kept unchanged besides universal weapon updates. I miss the wall guns not being in the mystery box as well and in all the old zombies maps they made guns you’d ignore in one map essential for other maps. For example I don’t like using the steak out but in five it’s the best weapon and every map utilized the wall weapon placement. In Kino I would never buy the ak 47 u but in cotd it would be in the perfect spot. The old zombies had so much small things about it that I love for in a call of duty zombies game. The fact that bo3 lacked most of these to me got rid of the soul and the fact that the ray gun is a fun ignore in the box but go for the games equivalent to the Dragonov is the worst feeling ever. Every gun that’s not a wonder weapon straight up is the best weapon after round 65 because of double pack. I might just make a video just repeating everything I said but making it actually entertaining.
