The only time people played zombies for the horror factor was probably when Nacht and Verrukt came out. Genuine zombies maps with no way of beating the map and was actually difficult. Was an adrenaline rush having to run away from zombies in a cramped space with guns that did little damage, especially in verrukt with super sprinters.

When I heard that Treyarch was developing Vanguard Zombies and everyone was like, "Sledgehammer isn't making the Zombies, this is going to be great!" I knew that it was going to end poorly because Treyarch would have to rush it and to an extent I was right. I did not predict the doing away with round based and going for objective based because why the fuck would you do that. But in reality, it was probably the easiest way for them considering they had just made Outbreak with tons of objectives and they probably saw that more players (likely casuals) seemed to enjoy it over the majority of normal Cold War Zombies maps.

@LadMMA ive beaten the game and got a full living dex. The story is great, and i like the new pokemon, but the objects that are far, like mountains and such, have polygons and bad renders until you get closer. You cant notice it much until you get the ability to fly, which is late in the story. 100% recommend, although at this point its kinda dead as theres not much post game aside from a ministory once you fill the dex. Super fun though!

The thing in this video I disagree with most is the point about super sprinters, they are a useless mechanic, they need to be completely voided from the idea pool. They only serve to make the game less fun every time they show up and in every game they are in, Cold War included, they force the player to do nothing but camp for high rounds. SOE and DE probably started development around the same time and whilst in development the other 3 main maps were getting started. When BO3 was announced SOE was probably 99% done and DE was around 75% complete with the rest lying in the 30-60% range of completion. From SOE release to DE release DE would have had the finishing touches done and that repeats for each of the dlcs

It all boils down to one core issue. The focus of the games shifted to story (which I personally am ok with), and then they ran out of story, and when they tried to do a new story they forgot they didn't have to change the game play as well. They could have moved on with the story for bo4 and kept the game play essentially the same, and it would have been a way better game.

no one will be able to successfully change my mind about BO4. I'll always love the game and know that it's good. The ones that hate it only hate it because youtubers tell them too

Bo4 wasn't horrible. It just was easily the weakest treyarch zombies game

Most people who hate it hate it for 5 reasons (I don’t hate the game but these are issues that definitely bring it down for me) 1. The aether storyline is god awful 2. Obvious budget cuts at the end of the cycle (Every aether map was a remake with a few extra areas at best) 3. Terrible UI 4. Special zombie spam. 5. Perks which could just be nostalgia If you tweaked those I’m sure most people would almost unanimously love the game. Replace Tag der Toten with a Great War map, tone down the UI to look literally any of the previous cods, keep the new perks as well as the originals and make them available in a Wonderfizz, and for god sake throw in at most 3 special zombies every few rounds instead of 15 plus every round. Because for god sake it doesn’t get hard it’s just gets tedious.

Nah it looks like a good game but it doesn’t feel like it, it’s boring, not satisfying.

I agree with u that they should not put effort into vanguard zombies but some people paid 60$ for the game I think they should at least make 2 round based maps IMO
