So the number 4 in Japan(the country the game is based in, due to the honourifics such as Kun etc) can be said in two ways: yon(the standard way) and Shi, which is also short for death and is considered bad luck, hence why they miss that number with floors etc

After reading some few explanations, I have a theory probably everyone might agree on. (Some are pretty obvious, some are not. Read at your own desire.) The old lady who was in the bathroom at the convenience store was obviously the mom of the dead wife. It is presumed that Ken Kun and the old lady are friends, neighbors or even the cousin of the dead wife or man, which sounds dead fake but realizing that Ken Kun does not come to his shift after day 3 supports that idea of him either being murdered (presumably from the ghosts of the family), missing (same thing), or just decided to stop working or was lazy to show up in his shift. Either way it's not revealed yet what has happened to Ken Kun. The strange figure (Shown behind the gate of the caution tapes and sending VHS tapes) is probably not solved, but for me, I have a theory. U all know when the murdered wife was killed when she was pregnant? What if the stillbirth baby (Which probably isn't possible due to logic) Was presumably the strange figure that probably killed the boss with it's cursed family? To top it off with some evidence, it is said that the convenience store used to be a house that the dead family used to live in, and instead they haunt whoever is in there. Credits: GamerSault, Nordanix (Someone on steam conversation) and all other people on KZbin with explanations of the story. (Let me know if I'm missing big details.)

this video misses a few details. on the first night, you will see that the entrance doors repeatedly open on their own. that is what leads to the character you are playing to talk to ken-kun off-camera. ken then gives you an update about the door the next day. during hamada's visit, if you observe him working, you will see that there is a key stuck on the inside of the air conditioning. as he leaves, he will drop a wrench. you can pick up this wrench, open the ac, and grab the key. i'm not sure what the key is supposed to be used for, but that's just a detail about the game. i forgot which day this is but i believe it is the second: the entrance doors keep opening and closing on their own once again despite the fact that they should have been fixed. if you look at the cctv, you will see the child ghost standing near the doors. then, they walk to the back entrance and go away.
