TEDx Talks

9 жыл бұрын

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Raised within a Persian family in Sweden, Navid learned from an early age that people are too used to talking about “the others” instead of to the others. This is a talk about the power and importance of basic human communication, where people actually listen and talk to each each other instead of trying to win the debate.
With a mission to create good condition for meaningful conversations, Navid Modiri knows what to do When Life Gives You Lemon. He challenges politicians to use a new form of political speech - conversation instead of debate. He showed his proof of concept, when he played golf with Jimmy Åkesson this summer. When you listen to Navid Modiri November 18th you will be challenged and inspired to see things differently than you are used to.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

We need this man to be the leader of nato. Imagine how many wars, disputes, and arguments could be avoided if we sat real leaders in a room and locked them in a room for 12 hours and food was served etc. Its incredible! This guy is truly inspiring! :"D

he is right, at the end we all are humans and we should put our differences and covers away for awhile and talk, only as human beings.

Wow. I was working on school and I saw this ted talk show up. Why am I only seeing this now? I honestly don't know, but thank you. You've changed my opinion of Sweden even though I'm not even sure I had one to begin with. And, I know this is 5 years late but I still pray that you're country and everyone else's can learn from this and realize we need to stop talking ABOUT others and go and talk TO others. If we did this simple act, so many lives wouldn't feel so lost and alone. Here in the USA, I feel like the main reason there are so many suicides are because these people, these teens, aren't talking to each other! They think that everyone else is living a better life, that other people don't feel the same pain, but we do. We all do. And if we talked to each other about the pain then maybe these people would realize they aren't alone! And that together, we can overcome this.

I was chewing on it ...it made me think that you react because little child inside you cried to hang on to the culture you came from even though you grew up in a country much more open minded than any part of the world & gave you a platform in life. So in certain situations you are Swede because that gives you benefits talking local language, haircut, name and clothes. And in certain situations you are a victim because you can gather sympathy.... TYPICAL IMMIGRANT INSECURITIES. eller hur? I am not trying to judge coz life is rough but clearly you are not standing alone ..at best you are swaying from side to side where wind blows
