I have the V2 hybrid as a company car. It’s quick. But I’m getting only 40mpg, the tank is very small so I have to fill up almost every day now. The boot is very very small. It’s full of gadgets. But there’s too many distractions inside for me. Looks good, but who cares when you’re inside? I would not spend 42 thousand pounds on it. And there’s loads or road noise inside.

I have the VZ2 310 bhp version, it's the perfect all rounder with the exception of the infotainment system as it's full of bugs on most models across the VAG. The false exhaust tips on the model you reviewed are enough to put many off buying that model, I thought they were a joke when I first saw them, it's a great car but sadly with some issues.

I'd love to try that version. I agree the infotainment is the weakest link but otherwise it's a great car.

We have ours now over 3 months.Amazing car and really eye cather.We went for a 2.0l diesel 150 hp because of big mileage per year and I am shocked how underpowered car feels.Have feeling you shouldn't even consider taking it under 200hp.

I've no experience of the diesel Formentor but certainly the plug-in hybrid gives it more of the power it deserves... But it does have to be charged to really get the best from it so not always the most convenient option!

I'd love one of these I diesel but alas it's EU only so we in Northern Ireland won't get it. The 1.5 TSI non hybrid is a possibility for me.

@@carolinekidd yeah I think the 1.5 would be all I could afford in terms of price and insurance. I'd prefer the diesel but as that isn't an option in the north here if I decide to go with this one it'll have to be the 1.5 TSI petrol, only problem is folk are going to see this and assume it's the quick one when compared to the quick one the 1.5 wouldn't be and then you have to explain that tho' I should imagine it'd be nippy enough. I'd also like to see what space there was in it with the seats folded down as I do have occasional need to carry my bike in the car which in my current car I can do no bother so it's something I will be looking for in whatever my next car will be.

@@LuusiicLoad? You mean charge it? Yes, sometimes. But battery range is at best 30 miles. I do about 200 a day. It’s basically the worst of both worlds. A car for people who are impressed by false, plastic moulded exhaust pipes.
