Jake , for what it worth. I admire your ambition and artistical view on repurposed items. You have a keen eye on the small things that make your pieces one of a kind. I Pray that you reach your goals in every direction. Especially were it counts like on this particular piece. Good luck on the auction and I hope your family member is going to pull threw what ever obstacles are putting them in need. God Bless you and yours from me and mine. Martin M&S Blades

if in market at 0:39 get a oxygen acetylene cutting torch and then grind off till smooth. itll go a long way man, you'd know what i'm talking about. i've used one in welding technology class many years ago im 24 now. what ya do with one i will say in prep terms start the acetylene first Open your acetylene bottle a quarter of a turn. Set your acetylene to between 5-7 psi (pounds per square inch). Turn your oxygen valve on all the way, then turn your acetylene valve a 1/6-1/5 of a turn. Using your striker light the torch facing away from you and the bottles. but if your not in market for one dont mind me lol

That’s pretty cool of you. I hope that knife sold for a good amount to help out your family member. I’m just trying to get started in knife making and really like watching your builds because I can’t afford all the pretty/perfect steels. I did find a good deal on Heller farrier rasps so hopefully I can do something nice with em. I’m still looking for a forge and anvil, jeezz those things are high dollar. Anyway, good work and I’ll be looking forward to more videos.

Or get one from habor freight they are ok for a beginner you can weld steel plate to it for more strength and add holes square and round according to the stock you will use.

@nguyenkhanhtoan28594 жыл бұрын
you should consider buying a better hammer, more specialised for blacksmithing and make the surface of the metal less bumpy, so there would be less black spots on the knife after grinding. The design is really cool, good job

Amazing work. I just worry for the integrity of construction under stress. That handle was round stock aluminum? The tang could really beat that up. And that sort of rat tailed threaded tang looked pretty slim compared to all that beefy blade. No doubt it’s still an incredible piece of art
