Thank you Janine for sharing this. Having watched several Ted talks featuring you, I must say that I appreciate this one the most. All of your talks are great, and useful, but as a mother I appreciate this one the most. I want to speak words that bring life to people, not fear, anger and sadness. I am eager to put the wisdom that you shared in this video to use with the people around me and no longer assign traits that I abhor but rather assign traits that build them up. Once again thank you for sharing.

so i have of course watched this again because its so awesome and i need repetition to integrate...and i had a thought. Angus didnt think you were mean on thanksgiving. which is beautiful. it also makes me think about how when we talk negatively to our kids they absorb it so easily they dont even remember it as trauma or abuse. omg big ah ha. we teach out kids what negative comments about them to accept as normal and believe.. :-( yikes thats huge. thanks SOOOO much for shifting my paradygm.
