From a long time Logic fan (still am), Logic isn't called corny because he's "too positive", his OWN fan-base calls him out on that because of the way he delivers that positivity. Many times, especially recently, he's lowered the quality of his bars, flow, and overall song construction in exchange of delivering that message in a very simple/mediocre way. You can't say that Logic is more or less positive than Kendrick, they just deliver that message differently, and the audience responds to it.

"Corny" is a false terminology, and one I find myself slipping into often due to people understanding what I mean by it. Truly, I think when most people use the term, they're referring to somebody who either blatantly opposes popular new movements in rap music in a seemingly vindictive way to lash out (think of Eminem's Kamikaze album or Ill Mind of Hopsin IV), somebody who's entire appeal is based around technicality in lyricism and flows (look at Logic, Eminem, or J Cole), or somebody just cashing in on a trend or image (Macklemore, Drake, Chance). A disclaimer, I don't think all of these artists are corny, just giving popular examples.

Moral of the story. You'll get hate or Criticism no matter what you do. So take the legitimate criticism and keep doing what you do. That's honestly the best way to handle it.

Good video analyzing this word “corny” personally I really enjoy Logic’s music and him having the corny label is definitely what’s stopping him from hitting the mainstream. People won’t give him a chance since they have already have a preconcepted notion on his music. That’s why I feel like Logics so slept on nowadays. 1-800 didn’t solidify him enough as a rapper and more of an artist yet people won’t check out the rest of his music. Also I don’t find the other people corny in this video. They have all different talents and abilities. If you don’t like it then you don’t like it. No need to excessively bash just like how people are doing with Chance the Rapper atm

The only thing I think is corny is not rapping clearly or straight up mumbling. The fact that "mumble rap" is even a thing is beyond corny it's disgusting. People would say Hopsin is corny, because he raps differently and is unique in his own way and then go on to say that a rapper rapping the same as everyone else is dope. Fuck that. Generic = Corny.
