If it makes you feel any better, there's a head stone where he's buried in Guthrie Oklahoma & he receives plenty of visitors regularly to pay their respects. Oklahoma somehow got custody of the body, I guess because that's where he died & where he was living last before he died.

So, historically, I think it was easy for the funeral director to be cool with displaying Elmer's body because of the way Funeral directors used to advertise their services. When embalming became a BIG thing, it was around the Civil War. They would display the unclaimed bodies that had been embalmed as an insane form of advertising. Like, "set up Johnny and Bill out front. They're our best two stiffs.". It was done disturbingly often.

As sad as this case is, it kind of makes me laugh. The fact that his body was passed around for years and people thought that it was a mannequin is just so sad it’s almost funny. I first heard of this case on Ghost Adventures and I genuinely thought it was a gag because it so mad.

Hi Eleanor! I know there’s a really high chance that you won’t see this, I love your videos so much, but there’s a case that you haven’t covered yet that I think that needs more attention. It’s the Alesha Macphail case, I feel uncomfortable going into detail as it’s a very dark and in humane case, but it’s a 6 year old Scottish girl who went on holiday to a Scottish island called Isle of Bute, she got abducted, r*ped and murdered by a 16 year old boy on 2nd July 2018. I understand if you don’t want to cover it on your channel as it’s not very high demand and it’s very triggering and dark, but Alesha story deserves more recognition and Alesha deserves justice. if you do see this, thank you for reading, and I hope you cover it as you can get lots of information on the case and i will definitely watch it. thank you x

Elmer was a relative in my family. I didn't know much about him at all but my dad said that he was one of the most failed outlaws, in fact he said that Elmer was probably the worst face to be put to our name. I did a research paper on him for my history class and you helped a lot with it. You gave details that I didn't really know other than what my dad had told me. I do know that my dad said one of our family members, which was I think a cousin, was extremely embarrassed by how much he had failed as an outlaw/criminal that he didn't want to even be seen near his body since he was supposedly closer to him. Idk how true or accurate that is but that's what went through the family rumors and such. I also know that said cousin or whatever he was, was a more successful criminal/outlaw and that he wasn't caught until many years later. As I said before I'm not sure how accurate this may be, but that's what's been told throughout family rumors and old tales passed down.
