Look, Im very critical of this game, but I have to admit one thing this dungeon race showed me again: The destiny 2 weapon and ability sandbox has become astoundingly diverse and individualistic over these last few years. For a long time in this franchise, there always used to be 1-3 elite weapons and strats at any given time that were used in hard content/raid races. Nowadays, its (often) really different. Its an impressive feat for a game to have this many perks, weapons, abilities etc. and see every team ive watched so far for this contest run use completely different set-ups, fight tooth and claw, and all of these strats to similarly barely edge out a win, all of them being similarly difficult. The game really grew a sandbox complex enough that no person alone is aware of all possibilities, and so every player has the possibility to figure out and gain experience with a unique, original loadout that other people wouldnt have considered at all. All while beeing generally balanced. Ive watched people grenade launcher this dude, cloudstrike him, use anarchy, datto and his team went triple warlock and well, healing grenade with machine guns etc., and this strat is different again. I think its a genuinely bafflingly game design archievment. (The witness raid race did worse in this regard, with everybody using hunter golden gun sniper.)

Great take. I think we have the best diversity we’ve ever had now. Most heavy’s viable all classes were good here with titans coming back with conso. Really is reaching pinnacle of sandbox game of this type

It's really cool how Bungie foreshadowed this. Back before Final Shape they had a lore rundown of Pantheon bosses in their TWABs and something they said about Atraks was that Hidden reports suggested that the real Atraks had escaped and we only killed a clone.

We just finished it, and its honestly on the level of raids like wov. Brutal first encounter, fairly easy second, third pretty much worse than most of the raid encounters I did on day 1. I dont know what I would compare it honestly. Maybe godslayer rhulk legit ? That one was fucking harda as shit.

It took my team like 8 damage phases cause we had no idea what we were doing, but i still got the drop so it was worth it. Edit: 8 phases is kinda an exaggeration it was more like 5, but we still did terrible the first 3 phases only doing half his health in those three. We barely knew what we were doing either way and kept dying to the arc explosions.

i started 2 hours after reset. played this dungeon for about 12 hours total and was stuck on final boss like cross here forever. i went to bed woke up and crushed it with a new team after like 5-6 tries. NEVER underestimate the power of sleep.

Warlocks carried this dungeon. Between speakers sight, ceno, well, song of flame and star eater nova bombs warlock was by far the best class to have multiple of. While tcrash is crazy strong now that time you spend flying in and running back is soooo much lost dps.

DSC world first day one challenge - 5hr 23 mins DSC mini dungeon day one challenge - 4hr 23 mins Bungie really pushed the difficulty on this one, some people saying its understandable it took so long because its the first time weve had a hard mode dungeon, do these people not know about master mode dungeons or something, the last time dungeons took this long was when the sandbox was quite weak compared to how it is today, zero hour and whisper are the only dungeons with higher world first times, the fact this dungeon took longer than Root just shows how pathetic that raid really is.

No Hesitation, its a support frame autorifle from the pale heart. dealing damage (with anything, not just the gun) charges a healing charge which you can then hipfire at allies to heal them

Jumping downstairs from the main room as well as entering the safety bunker will automatically remove scanner/operator/suppressor buffs so you won't have to manually dunk them before those instances. Sorry if this has already been mentioned in the comments.

They manually dunk them so they are available at the augment stations downstairs. Removing them with the barriers requires you to acquire them from an enemy again.

Am i the only one who just wants challenging boss encounters without stupid ass mechanics that make you jump trhough fucking hoops just so you can deal damage and get health gated multiple times. Actual difficulty and artificial difficulty are two very different things. The pve sandbox is great build crafting is great. The versatility in gameplay and how you customize how you play is phenomenal. It's the mechanics and encounter designs that hold this game back. Sometimes i just want to shoot shit without having to do mental gymnastics. No i dont want to look for symbols or shoot things on the wall just to progress an encounter or battle a boss. Sometimes i just want to shoot the fucking boss.

@@TheZombie462 if nightfalls were good then I would agree, but dungeons were the only thing that casual players could hold on to for cool endgame type content that gave raid style rewards but did not require much effort and were easily replayable and simple. If strikes and onslaught are all that are left then more people are going to leave and they wont get better. I wish all the best for destiny having played for 10 years but I have to agree with @hollowfiedkyubi that destiny has lost this fun simple gameplay that used to keep us playing long after the initial excitement of day one releases.
