@@DriveHub you should go with Zip after market bolts if you wanna keep the low cost..it will pu the wheels near the arch .. as long as your shocks are good quality it will not rub or bounce. dont forget to turn them counterclockwise

When I was shopping for my C5/6 I remember coming across a few C5's with the C6 wheels. Always made it look way better. Somehow the bigger wheels offset the body's size better. Looks more proportionate. And the tires look better with the spacers but...It's risky to the fenders.

C6 wheels do look good on a C5. Those yellow calipers clash horribly with the silver car though. Red would look much better.

My friend did the same thing on his frc. Now hes waiting on wide body fenders cause he hit a bump and destroyed his fender lol. And that was with 20mm spacers

I removed the C6 rims from my C5 and put in Cray Brickyard wheels and it made a world of difference. No worry about offset being wrong and went with 18 front and 19 back which looks great

I had the same problem with brake dust. I switched my pads to PowerStop’s. Wow 😯 HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!!👍🏼 little to no brake dust.

Get smaller spacers. 1 inch instead of 1.5 inches should do it. C6 rims looks great

I have used spacers on kit cars with no ill affects , if you do not lower the car it should be OK. if you lower the car look for thinner spacers so you do not hit the fenders on a bump. The larger wheels will affect your speedometer, so watch your speed in town.

Jake, I hated the new wheels before you put them on the car, after you mounted them, they look pretty good. It somehow ties the car together, can't explain it.

You should get a square set of 18s or 19s for it. Plenty of tires to choose from, it makes the car handle so much better, and you can rotate tires which extends tire life. I'm running a square setup of 18x10.5 wrapped in 275/35/18 on my C5 z06 and I have been autocrossing and driving all year with great results. I also suggest running coilovers if you can swing it. It makes dialing in the suspension way easier.

I’ve got the same wheels on my C5 but no spacers. I’ve never noticed that they sit too far in. I think I am going to go take a closer look. Also now you need some slotted and drilled rotors.

I put chrome C7 wheels on my 02 C5 with a 1/4” spacer on the rear. They look awesome, I’m planning on going with a 3/4” spaced just to bring it out to where the stock wheel sat.

Get some matched yellow MPG brake caliper covers and add your logo decal of choice then clear coat the decals for protection.

I think that your C5 Thin Spokes were polished and cleared rather than chrome. I'm generally okay with painted wheels and usually prefer then to chrome or polished but I think the two different shades of silver do not complement each other, although that may just be how they look on camera and may be okay/better in person. What's important is that you like them. I have two sets of wheels for my Magnetic Red C5 convertible - the OEM optional Magnesium Sport wheels and a set of Z06 Speedlines. I put summer rubber Continentals on the Z06s and all-season Michelin AS3s on the Mag Sports and swap them out between summer/winter and winter/summer.

Also just lower it on stock bolts, you can get it a hood fitment look but if you don’t want a wheel cap go with aftermarket lowering bolts but the ride quality is probably gonna suck then again you can go with coilovers for a good fitment and ride quality

Did you turn the lowering bolts the wrong way on the front end? The calipers need to be black or red! The best bang for the buck upgrade you can make for the handling is c6 Z06 shocks and poly sway bar bushings. A whole lot cheaper than coil overs!

You really need to do more searching on your messed up front bolts. Did you get the lowering bolts to move ? Buy after market bolts and go to an exhaust shop or similar and have them cut or heat them to get them to turn and remove. Use never seize on the threads of the new bolts.

The c6 rims look good with a small spacer out back. Smart move. I’ve seen the c8 wheels on the c5 and it looked good. Not sure if the c8 wheels with slightly different bolt pattern though. Stay with the c6 wheels with a smaller spacer out back

Loving the wheels!!!! They go perfectly with your Pewter Silver Metallic paint on your C5!! Stick with the spacers, maybe go to a 1 inch, the rears should be flush with your quarter panels then.

Dude, I live in Italy and there's no possible way I could ever afford a recent big V8 with many horsepower, because here in Italy the tax property and insurance is based on HP and engine size and they're absolutely absurd. Basically a Hellcat would cost me around 7000€ a year just for owning that car. But I'm half American and I'm really into V8 American cars... So then I saw the Corvette C5. It's over 20 years old and that means that the Tax property gets eliminated because the car would be considered "historic" and even insurance would be way less... That said, I'm so happy to say that in a little over a year from now, once I'm done paying for my daily car, I will buy and import from the US to Italy a Corvette C5 and I couldn't be happier about it. The sound it makes with the Borla exhaust it's everything I ever dreamed of. I will finally have my own V8 and your videos are truly an inspiration for what I'll expect from my own Corvette. Keep up the good work and those rims are beautiful, nice touch with the C6 rims!

Personally imho the wheels look fantastic! My belief is the look of the different factory wheels outweigh the looks of so many aftermarket style wheels today. Too much chrome is NOT the way to go. I'm not a big fan of the yellow calipers but if thats what you like your the one ultimately that owns and rives the Vette.

C5 wheels were never chrome from factory. They were only either painted or polished. If yours are chrome they are aftermarket knockoffs.

Sorry Jake ...To me you went sideways with that one. A chuck wagon design simply doesn’t enhance the look of the C5 period. When faced with the same dilemma I chose A far more modern design and went with the C7 Z06 satin black wheels with black Lug nuts from Corvette Mods
