Curious how Joey refers, despite everything, to those who worked on the second console as a "technician" 😂

Not curious, courteous. Even if it's a messed up, hacked up, dog chow of a piece of work... it costs nothing to be nice, and some people like to be that way.

A few people asked how they could support the channel in an additional way in my last video, which is extremely kind and appreciated 😊 The best way to support is of course to watch, comment and share the video as much as you can with someone who you think would enjoy the content, but there are a few extra ways to go a step further if you want to 😊 The first would be using any of the affiliated links in the description, this helps a tonne. You can even pin them as a homepage for your browser, and navigate to whichever item you're wanting to purchase that isn't related, and I'll still get a little kick back from the commission for no extra cost to you 😊 Secondly, you can link your Twitch account to your Amazon Prime subscription and use that on the Joey Does Tech Twitch channel completely free of charge here ▶ www.twitch.tv/joeydoestechofficial Lastly you can hit the "Join" button under the KZbin video to become a KZbin Member and receive additional content from myself every now and again. As well as access to some videos a little bit earlier than the normal schedule 😊 I won't continue harping on about this again for a while, I just saw an opportunity to answer a few questions from the previous video in a pinned comment 😁 Again watching the video is already enough to support me, these are all additional ways. Have a great weekend, and hopefully we can get back into that green margin! 🎉🎄 EDIT: I said episode 34 at the beginning, it’s 44 😂

Joey, I think a good in-between educational video would be to do a video on how to do trace repairs. Which iron tip, heat, wires used, etc. I do struggle with trace repairs myself and would appreciate a video like that

I'm constantly impressed how many DIY people just don't bother cleaning up their work after they're done butchering (i mean 'fixing') a board. Just on this channel alone, almost every item that has had 'previous work' done, has been a complete mess. Kudo's to you for not ripping your hair out and having a massive rant about lazy, ham fisted, self proclaimed technicians mutilating boards then selling them on eBay as spares or repair.

hi Joey keep up the good work. if you have a unpatched switch lying around,. take the emmc and boot hakate and see if the emmc boots from the first switch also you really need to replace m92 as that can go bad without symptoms I would also say after seeing all the video. you'd get more spiltin the oled screen. and the oled mobo.

Suggestion for your trace repair: wrap the bottom wires around the edge of the board and apply the mask to add extra stability and near zero chance the wire traces will move during port replacement. Hope this helps.

when repairing tracks on a pcb you can use your solder wick fray the ends and use a small blow lamp to melt the ends . then pull a strand with a copper ball on and use a small hammer on the ball and copper wire you will get a perfect flat disc and a small flat trace that can be glued to pcb making a perfect repair?

When I ordered a Nintendo switch lite, used, tested from ebay, the screen would not turn on when it was charging/ fully charged, I did a hard reset on the system, held the power switch for 30 seconds and it started. Could just be a simple capacitor issue.

that was an usb-c port for a normal nintendo switch 😂 as you see it doesn't fit very well.... poor console 😅 i've used a normal switch usb-c port as well but only for testing because at that time i haven't got a new port for the oled version in stock so i had to improvise to see if the console was working or not.

@@gladiorosso9816 nah...

The fact that a device has failed in the first place is obviously disappointing but a failed or bodged repair is doubly so. There should be rules on the sale of faulty goods that have to indicate a previous repair has been attempted. The word untested not be used when the device has the warranty seal broken and signs the screws have been removed along with screws missing. All faults can be then be graded and the value be appraised accordingly.

Just out of curiosity: Do you factor in any Dollar number for an hour of your work? There are people like Hugh Jeffreys whose main point is to show how much unnecessary electronic waste we are producing every day. So he doesn't care about how much time he spends as long as he gets back to life. But anyone else should because that's an important "investment" as well!

Man this port looked so bad. This is the result of people looking youtube videos, who think "Hey that looks easy, i can swap the port by myself!. But they underestimate how tiny those traces are. Under the microscope they look big, but in real they are so tiny.. i mean soooooo tiny! Have changed an hdmi port on one of my graphics cards, and this was not easy. It looks easy if someone skilled doing it, but if you do it by yourself, it is very hard without practice.

You can tell right away the listing was dishonest. If you buy a working Switch for £150-£200 then you don't sell it when it doesn't work, you go and get your money back. This is what sane people do unless they buy something very dodgy from a dodgy ad placed by a dodgy person....
