no. this is "welcome to the nightmare of terrible people who try to take advantage of others i.e. trash worthless humans". clearly someone altered the repaired series X, whether that was replacing the board or damaging the port and tried to say "it came this way" -- no it didnt. we all watched him repair it and it worked.

Yep, I've been fixing and or reselling for quite a few years and this is one of the challenging things about it.

Btw I should have started with I hope you make a full recovery and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. But funny story at least you got the same console back. I sold a ps2 slim and got back a cocaroach infested one (at least they were dead) (reselling is fun :) ) took a while but I won the dispute on that one@@Tronicsfix

You sir.. Are a gentleman... Kept saying the customer got it and it wasnt working although you took the trouble to blur out their profile name that clearly showed that the hmdi port was working when they got it.

Those shiny spots on the plastic reminds me of how stadiums 'refresh' their plastic seats from weathering. They take a blow torch to them to let the plastic slightly melt to make it look new.

I feel like it is pretty obvious that the buyer isn't being fully honest, but good on you for going ahead and correcting the issue.

That moment when you return something to the person who has a video showing the console fixed. I feel like they broke it and tried some shenanigans. You are a better person then I am. I will also say that I have never played Red Dead on my One X that I didn't hear the fans. Never overheated, but you can hear the fans working.

I was waiting for your weekly video! They give me joy, I hope they do the same for you and you can keep it up! Keep fighting the good fight in any case and get well soon!!!!

I usually enjoy making these videos and the fact that a lot of people enjoy them. Thanks for the comment.

Nice redo-repair Steve... yea, easy to point fingers in a case like this, especially with "video proof"(!!) It's more about your brand and reputation, so, great call on the buy-back and the redo! Cheers! Integrity is almost everything!

Hey Steve, i'm a big fan. You are an inspiration to all us repairers. The Xbox One APU still had thermal compound on and around some of the chips SMDs. Some compounds are conductive. It can change the resistance and short out components. Should clean the APU fully and try it again. You are a legend. Keep up on all the hard work.
@Tronicsfix2 ай бұрын
I use non conductive thermal paste so it doesn't matter what it gets on. The factory thermal paste is also non conductive so there's no issue there.

I appreciate how much work goes into these videos. It's always interesting even though it's the same handful of consoles

Nice working taking it back and fixing it, but I would put some warranty sticker to avoid having to fix someone else's mistake.

This is why I fix my own electronics I bet you're right about geek squad forgetting to put the clamp back on then returning the Xbox in worse condition than it was when they received it. Feel like this is incredibly common among non just geek squad but other brands "technicians"
@mjc09618 ай бұрын
You're more generous than me, after seeing that someone else took it apart and didn't put the clamp back on, I would have sent it back unrepaired and no refund. Once they involved someone else, it becomes that someone else's problem.

I truly think u did everything right. Feel like the buyer isn’t being 100% truthful bout things.

What I like about you is you’re a normal hard working honest guy ! A rarity ! If you look harder at the before and after regarding the hdmi it’s pretty clear to me the customer damaged it. The bottom metal lip of the hdmi port is bent downwards. Unless the customer done that with repeated attempts to get it working 🤨

Great video Steve, customers can be super frustrating some times as it does look a bit fishy but you did a great job fixing the series X. 😎👍
@rudeq867 ай бұрын
You're too kind for the world Steve. That series X hdmi port seemed quite tampered with unlike when you sent it away. Also the clamp that was missing, the darth vader account already on screen tells me they did use the console and were able to login (because I imagine you reset the console after repairs), so hdmi must have been working when they received it... Hope you're doing okay fighting the big C, take care!

You should try to add some stickers when you fix the consoles so you can figure out if somebody already opened the consoles. Nice Video, You are the best!

Whoa whoa, hang on.....how did he manage to get his xbox account set up on that xbox if the HDMI port didn't work ??? You are a good man Steve, fair play to you
