This little video shows a lot about the concept of nations and the human psychology. There is basically just a beach. It could be Serbia, it could be Croatia. The beach doesn't care. But yet Drew was so jacked up just to touch the sand of this beach and he almost didn't care if he goes to jail for it. Only because someone gave this beach the name "Liberland".

It's much more complicated. I served as the President of the Liberland Aid Foundation where we would offer aid to other struggling nations to build bonds since many nations including our Liberland are either not or rarely heard by the UN. Liberland just wants to exist and it's not about Vit. It's about a movement.

This is so neat! My neighbour is the daughter of both a Croatian and a Serbian parent, I just don't remember who's from which, I think her mum was Croatian. They fled persecution to Canada, but had to leave their adult son behind. Can't understand a word her mum says, but you understand the love in the food she makes!

As a person from Apatin,i acctually entered liberland 2 times,once going fishing we went past it and 2nd time our boat broke down and police allowed us to go to the shore and they called the mechanics,thanks for rating our beer. Also you can see my kayak coach on timestamps: 23:20 (he is the left person in the closer boat) and on 32:31 (he is the right one with his hand in the air)

The land that was "claimed" by these people is disputed territory between Croatia and Serbia, and will be solved in future. Just because some wacko decided it's his, it doesn't make it so. They already know that, but since some people are stupid enough to believe that "project" will work, they are making good money out of it. Also provide a good subject for making KZbin content, obviously. Just gtfo.

Hey Drew, just a note. On 0:35 when talking about Liberland Location, the wrong flag has been used for Croatia (used flag -> Banovina of Croatia 1939-1941 & Independent Croatia 1990) The flag has been changed since 1991 and updated with a new coat of Arms.

Absolutely. Border disputes do not mean unclaimed land. The land might be in the rare situation in which the two sides claim it belongs to the other, but that's still a claim. Eventually, the disoute will be resolved, and the land will be either under Croatia or Serbia control. But, pending that resolution, the land is under de facto Croatia control.

It appeared a lot on the social media and that idea became more bigger - that we should annect the whole area, because it belongs to us. It came viral, even in big medias, thats exacty the kind of humor, what people love here

Nice video Drew, but be careful, you used the wrong flag of Croatia at 0:34. Due to its extremely controversial historical background, I would advise you to change it to the current recognized one. Other than that, thanks for the story!

About a year after this video was made (Aug 2023) the Croatia police broke up the settlement and destroyed the makeshift buildings. so it doesnt really exist anymore. Lucky to have filmed it when it was at its peak.
